    QLD GPS Rugby 2013

I could have sworn there'd be more Super names in the team. Paul Alo-Emile at the rebels, Curtis B at the reds EPS, Chris F Sautia at the reds. Petaia is a familiar name, but that's probably because I remember him at school. Does anybody know where they are now?

Correct on all fronts. Ladder should look something like this 1 loss NC TSS BBC GT?? (lost in round 1, bye in round 2, beat ippy round 3 and TGS round 4) 2 losses Churchie BGS BSHS 3 losses TGS IGS

30-26 to Nudgee, what a fantastic game. Nudgee tired very quickly towards the end, 12 was yellow carded in the 63rd minute and it completely opened up Nudgee out wide. Magnay dropped off 3 tackles resulting in 2 tries for TSS. TSS were storming home, what a great game

10 all draw in the Second XV. Both teams still undefeated and unlikely to lose again this season

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2013

Can anyone on the forum guide me to the two squads picked? I was under the impression it had been released, but I had a quick look and couldn't find it. Any help would be appreciated

I'd be a bit careful with mentioning the staff and coaches Digby, boys have gotten in trouble from their respective schools for slandering players and coaches. I've heard a story from Churchie two years ago where moderators gave the boys IP address to the school, found out he posted from a...

What's happened to Malik Paataanga and Parker Montagu? A lot of names missing from this team..

If that's the case I may well be confused about Mafi also. Thanks Knockers, your depth of knowledge astonishes me. Do you know anything about the rest of the Southport team regarding level of entry?

FlashFlanker I think I noticed you saying Mafi started in under 15s at Nudgee.. I'm fairly certain I remember being terrified of the Nudgee 9A front row of Mafi and Leleisauo, so I think your information is a bit off. In regards to Terrace, Te-Rupe and Leofa are in this years team, but aren't...

That's a good point, and well said too. Brian Westlake I've heard of the schoolboy broadcasting in New Zealand before, and it had me thinking recently about the feasibility of such an operation. Even though most would say that "It's only schoolboy rugby, boys should concentrate on studies...

No dramas, I'm happy to stir up some debate. When you say it's he'll be out the door and its happened before, do you mean he'll be expelled/leave the school before the season or the year ends?

My mistake. Thought you were referring to a flyhalf

The thing about hired guns is I assume they are well paid for the work they do. Let me clarify :) Will he really be a part of the old boy network? absolutely. Will 10 weeks at a GPS school be a life changing experience? Maybe. And for the following reason. He might not meet many students...

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

I think a condemnation of the player himself is taking it a bit far, how was he meant to refuse the opportunity to experience life at a GPS School for free? even if there was no benefit academically he is still awarded the opportunity to be a part of the Old Boy network which may help him later...

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

I think the end result is that the private schools are a business, and rugby success is good for business in the sense that the canteens make money, and the support groups make money. Winning the premiership gets increased numbers of kids playing, old boys at the game, and ultimately more money...

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

This is just some work I did previously on the QLD forum that's quite appropriate for this one, so I thought I might share it. I'm not insinuating that these players are on scholarships, I've just stated the fact that many of them have left their old schools and are now attending GPS schools...

Just want to issue an apology here about the naming of the player in question. His appearance at Churchie had raised a lot of eyebrows on the Queensland GPS forum due to his representative selection history, which was exaggerated further by the fact that he still hadn't been recruited by a major...

I agree with you, but it's probably best not to upset Big Brother and talk about it. I was under the impression that it was Josh Bowyer-Bowen who was playing 15, but has since been moved to 10, with previous 10 Russell moving to 12, and former 13 Wilkins moving to 15. Conrad Quick to play 13...
