    Reds 2023

Just on that subject, do you have any mail on Declan Meredith who has been recently contracted at the Brumbies essentially straight from Cairns? Some time at Wests in the JID Cup but not through the Reds.

I think he's been a bit all over the shop at 15 too. Injuries were a problem but it is really no surprise that neither Wright nor Petaia are adequate at fullback. Probably should have stuck with Hodge from the beginning or had the fortitude to try Campbell. Anyway, now I think he should lock in...

Wallabies v Springboks - Adelaide Oval, Sat 27th August, 2022

Just about the best team that can be put together right now. Regardless now of win or lose this weekend, it is time for Rennie et al to stick with these players and just offer rotation on and off the bench to give all of them opportunities with decent game time. The exceptions would be...

I was not impressed with Rodda's work for the Force this year. IMO he was never as good as Rory Arnold and Rory is having difficulty re-establishing himself in the Wallabies at present. Rodda is good to excellent at lineout, but so are all of his direct competitors, Swain, Philip and Frost...

Wallabies v Springboks - Adelaide Oval, Sat 27th August, 2022

Agree with the front row but I rec kon FF (Folau Fainga'a) has more physicality in his game than Porecki so would start with him. Rodda? WTF? Out injured for the remainder of the year I recall. In any case, he has no better form than any of Philip, Frost or Swain, and no recent game time, I don't know where...

Why stop at 2 and 5? Given the issues we have at 10, 12 and 15, surely Porecki can fill those spots too?

Nah, Dan is a Red through and through. (Just kidding too).

Think it does matter a bit. If Kwagga Smith is in the SA side, then more reason imo to play McReight in ours, but if no Smith, then we might want to match the physicality a bit more and start someone like Samu at 7.

The bigger question Wamb is - where would those players be if they weren't rounded up by the Brumbies? Some would be back playing club rugby while those that made the Super side would displace the same number from the current Super sides and those would be back playing club rugby. What a great...

And the fact that his brother (also named Valetini coincidentally) plays for Manly and that the team list also misspelt his name.

Richie Arnold? Rory's now based in Japan I understand.

    What position?

Wallabies v Springboks - Adelaide Oval, Sat 27th August, 2022

I think there are quite a few spots yet to be sorted for the first test against the Saffas, not just 10 and 15. Hooker will be between Porecki and Fainga'a. Most on here are suggesting Porecki but FF (Folau Fainga'a) probably put in the best No 2 shift by all comers in the first Argentina test. I would stick...

    Argentina v Australia II @ 5.10am 14/08

Nah BH. In the past couple of years, Sio has been carrying injuries, Slipper had quite a bit of time out of the game, Bell has mostly been weak at scrumming and Tupou only bores in and gets away with it with a couple of Aussie refs. There are recent signs of improvement though. Sio looks to be...

And no Tahs 10 either if I'm not mistaken. Don't know what the form of Brumbies Nos 10s has to do with Foley's very poor passing incidents. But I'm sure you will enlighten me. I might just not read it though.

    Wallabies 2023

If he plays true to earlier form he should be good for at least one try per test for the opposition with a misdirected pass, usually along the ground, going well behind where the No 15 might stand if not already up in the backline. His long passing game used to be shite.

Someone remind me - when does Gamble become eligible? Could he be in the mix? Similarly Jahrome Brown? Keen to see Kuenzle also get a run if fit. Could be another option at 10. Always thought he was at least as good as Noah at the Brumbies.

    Refereeing decisions

Tackle occurs the instant the ball carrier hits the ground with the tackler in contact. Immediately means release then, not another metre or more along the ground depending on the carrier's momentum

Crabbing as bad as Beale and one of the poorest in-play kicking games ever to grace the Brumbies. He had excellent games at 12 when Bernie was the 10. Anybody would.

Simone is now in the squad. He has probably the best long passing and short kicking game of the lot who are vying for the 10 spot. I wonder if there's a chance he could get that spot against the Saffas?
