IMO you're a fine contributor here gel. But the above ^^^^^^, well that's ***** stars. Thank you.

Round 7 - Brumbies v Reds, GIO Stadium, Canberra Sat 8th Apr @ 7:45PM AEST

All good mate. I was in no way excusing or much diluting any version of what you say re these players. (But do remember that Frisby has obviously been selected and supported by Stiles as HC, until recently, in one of his key Reds playing roles.) What I did say, I said: the fine line that IMO...

Round 7 - Brumbies v Reds, GIO Stadium, Canberra Sat 8th Apr @ 7:45PM AEST

You make a good point at the end there Simon. HC Stiles will need to be very careful wrt his strong 'naming and shaming' of individual players MO in this and other cases. I like his overt, honest frankness and non-PC manner of dealing with 'disappointing results' but there's a fine line...

Round 7 - Brumbies v Reds, GIO Stadium, Canberra Sat 8th Apr @ 7:45PM AEST

Tuttle 6.5/10 and on L plates MacInyre 5-5.5/10 Kuridrani 5-6/10 Maranta - unknown but high risk on paper and the Brums will ruthlessly target he and McI Add it up, we have serious exposures in the back line of that there can be no doubt.

    Test ticket prices

Very much so, and badly needed. When I went to the (terrific) opening of 2017 season festival at Brothers here in Brisbane (UofS and Norths played their opposites that day), the spontaneous quite bitter antipathy I found re the ARU (and to a smaller degree the QRU) was extraordinary and it was...

    Test ticket prices

Agree with much of that, except I think price really does matter when an event is not 'the ultimate' in relative terms. I'd also do (just principles below): - material % discounts if any one buyer buys say 4 tickets (to incent groups of fans to team up and go) - big family deals at low-ish...

    Test ticket prices

The masters of optimised seat pricing are airlines (it's called 'yield maximisation'), with each flight being a one-off, very high fixed cost event and the only thing that really matters is maximising the total $s flying on that flight that day. That's why when airlines' advanced algorithms...

    Test ticket prices

Yep...........and it's not correct that 'all the premium tickets for Aus-based Bleds are selling out'. Bled Tests are, sadly, by no means the 'premium' events they used to be. For example, the October 2014 Bled at Suncorp had a 46,200 crowd and was not close to a sell-out (capacity 52,500)...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Wamberal perhaps you could - with due courtesy to all here no doubt - reverse your subtly lazy tendency to demand others say and justify things (whist you stay quietly on the outer reaches of debate) and thus you yourself please: - list for us all those competent acts, policies, strategies...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Hi half By no means was I referring to Foxtel alone; the logic set forth applies to them all to varying degrees, and there are many broadcasters involved incl e.g. Sky in the UK. Foxtel may not be so hungry for 'product' as they were in 2015 however the core fact is they still have to make...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I respect your thinking, but the calculus for all the SANZAAR broadcasters is way more complex than this. They make their rugby TV income from advertising and subscriptions and some (minor) on-sale rights. They justify what they pay to SANZAAR partners based solely on projected income...

    Test ticket prices

Agree TOCC. It's also economically stupid in that I'd guarantee these high prices in relation to (a) generally falling Wallaby crowds (b) rapidly building bad PR re the state of rugby in Australia and (c) total Bled trophy fails in recent years, will in aggregate ensure that gross Bled Test...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

From Wayne Smith below in The Australian this morning (extract only).....as I've had cause to say before here, you could not make this ludicrous saga up if you tried. The negligence, arrogance and manifest incompetence of the entire process as it affects virtually every aspect of southern...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Everyone has strong opinions re AJ but what I like is at least there is a voice of hard protest getting some premium attacking airtime re the state of the code today. Right now the AJ rugby comments story is upper front page of the SMH online. Australian rugby today badly lacks any form of...

    Reds 2017

I am the very last person to be offering up soft apologies and excuses for HCs, but what is sometimes forgotten as we slowly recover from the trauma and damage of the recent Reds Lost Years Into the Darkness 2013-16 is that in this period the effective investment in proper skills development...
