    Wallabies 2023

He signed a 5 Year deal for a reason. Feels good to think they actually might have a plan that doesn't include scouring the Japanese 2nd Division for past their best former players to save them

    Wallabies 2023

Eddie putting his stamp on the team, good to see. The future is now

    Wallabies 2023

Debatable, but they certainly went with the young players with an eye to the future
  5. Tomthumb

    Wallabies 2023

They had 13 players in their squad with single digit caps, including an uncapped player Started a 22 year old at 9 and a 20 year old at 10

    France did in 2019

    Wallabies 2023

Calf seems like a convenient excuse for Eddie His love affair with size would make it hard for him to pick 2 small 7's

    Wallabies 2023

His 2 conversions in Dunedin were tough and he nailed them both, and he hit the post with his penalty in the second half The kicking woes are over dramitised I feel

    Wallabies 2023

South Africa have basically taken 3 hookers with Deon Fourie in the squad

    Wallabies 2023

Fair enough, lack of number 8 backup is a bit of a worry here

    Wallabies 2023

The huge issue by doing this is leaving yourself stuck if any injuries occur Taking 2 hookers means any injuries the day before the game (like Uelese) and you're cooked. Ditto for only taking 5 props. And if you only have 3 players coving 6 and 8 then you will need McReight and Hooper to play...

    Wallabies 2023

Fair enough, but you'll have to either only take 3 locks or only have 1 player to cover 6 and 8 off the bench to have them both in the squad though. That's tough to manage throughout a tournament

    Wallabies 2023

It's not silly at all, it's based around only being able to pick 33 players In a vacuum, Hooper would be great to have in the squad, but carrying 2 players that can only play 7 isn't really feasible in a 33 man squad that needs versatility. You can only really pick one of them, otherwise you...

    Wallabies 2023

Yeah, nothing screams "regeneration" like an out of form 31 year old that is gone after the World Cup James O'Connor and Bernard Foley for co-captains, so much "top level international experience"

    Wallabies 2023

Schoupp had a really good super season. Uelese & Vunivalu didnt

    Wallabies 2023

Eddie himself said a week ago he is looking to “regenerate” the team, and talked about how he’s learnt a lot more about players since the start of the rugby championship McReight was clearly better than Hooper this year, he’s in the uptick of his career and looking to improve. Hooper was...

    Wallabies 2023

That isn't a fact, and debating things is sort of the point here

    Wallabies 2023

I think the original co-captain thing is well and truly over from what Eddie has said. Tate is the most likely captain going forward I'd prefer taking the route Gatland has with Wales. Pick the young guys in better form and lets build something around the young core of Bell, Frost, T Hooper...

    Rugby World Cup 2023

They are trying to make it look interesting as their coach might just be the most boring man on earth
