    RuggaMatrix

I didn't find a mention of the TYS - 90mins is too long to listen to. The discussion on the wide game was very good - this is something the current tahs rarely do.

iRB Meeting to Determine ELVs' fate

Thought I would post Steve Tew's thoughts on the meeting, given the NH often thinks of the ELVS as an Aus/O'Neil conspiracy. "There is no chance that the sanctions will be agreed to at council in May," Tew said yesterday. "We had the 10 major unions in the room yesterday with the people who...

    Rocky Elsom

I am pretty sure the euro clubs can set it up so that Rocky gets to take most of his irish pay home. He would about half of his Aus pay to Kevin Rudd.

iRB Meeting to Determine ELVs' fate

Is this whole thread an April fools?

    Kurtley Beale

When I think of Hangers, I think of players like Lachlan McKay, Shaun Berne and Duncan McRae. Good honest players who are stars in club rugby, generally hold their own in super rugby standard, but will never be international standard. I still think Beale is the future for no. 10 for NSW as...

    Tahs Vs Blues

I picked the blues. I haven't seen the game yet, how did the blues actually play. I watched the chiefs-blues last week and I would be interested to know how much they improved, or did we just play well against an average side. Let see if the tahs (and hangers) can back it up again this week V...

    Shute Shield 2009

Re: 2009 Shute Shield The usual 2 * 2cms of column space appeared in the local paper yesterday outlining Southen Districts chances this year. Apparently they have recruited some former leaguies (although I didn't recongise the names). Also have Chris Anderson (of NRL fame) on the coaching...

    My Super Rugby Solotion!

I quite like the idea of startig with domestic rugby and building up to the 3N. It would even help Aus to foster a domestic comp, although there is actually far more politics to be overcome for this to occur. I haven't counted the weeks, but it feels like there would still be trouble fitting...

The Sydney Uni mafia speaks .................................

Possibly because it got him to 2 S14 finals.

    Tahs Vs Blues

PS, not happy about the mustard rank. I spend too much time cleaning back door mustard for my kids.

    Tahs Vs Blues

Apparently Kurtley is not on the flight over due to illness. He is due to fly over later in the week. Also, Waugh is apparently fit to play.

    Sorry ARU no refunds

Someone who is knowledgable about such things needs to explain why the tahs backs don't play with any width in their game. On both attack and defence, the tahs backline would only stretch about 2/3rds of the way across the field. Beale isn't going to be doing too many 10m passes in this context...

    Tahs Vs Blues

Mumm will surely have to return to the second row for this game. Bring Mowen back in at 6. FP, I see you have left Hangers out altogether? Can't see that happening. BTW - Can Beale play halfback?

    Waratahs v Crusaders

Surpised there aren't more match reports. Anyway, It was a game of missed opportunities for the tahs. Horne dropping the ball with the line open, beale and carter running into each other leading to the saders second try, Tiquiri getting run down (and not looking for support) when in the clear...

    SANZAR/Super rugby future format

The difference this time would be that there would be many competitions trying to poach your players for big $ - not something SA had to worry about in the 80s

    SANZAR/Super rugby future format

very good post lindomer! :thumb I agree with the lot of it.

    SANZAR/Super rugby future format

I think there will be a lot of aggresive targetting of players if the pacific competition needs to find 90 players to fill out three new teams. I am sure that SA teams will be one of the targets.

How small will the crowd be in Sydney this week?

I am leaning towards going. My main concerns is that the crusaders don't seem to be in good form.

    Tahs Vs Brumbies

Only just watched the game last night. Firstly, well done to the brumbies, they withstood a fair amount of poressure early and scrambled well. They also played the most positive rugby of the game and it was good to see quick phase ball and passes going to players on the move. nevertheless I...
