    Shute Shield 2011

Yes but they must beat the in-form Norths this weekend or they will find it almost impossible to catch the Top 6. Particularly as many would think that Norths would be the team to make way for them. IMO, this is the game of the round this weekend.

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2011

For those who are interested, Grammar beat Aloysius 41-24 yesterday and led 29-0 after 30 mins.

    Shute Shield 2011

I wasn't originally surprised to see Souths lose to Wests but I am now given that Souths had Ulugia, Palmer, Vaea, Grayson Hart, Kemp, Vuna and Cummins.

    Three Man Lineout Lift

I would say that it is not allowed. The third lifter would have left the lineout to perform his role.

The case for Anthony Fainga'a to wear the Green and Gold

I find it interesting that Fainga'a is often talked about as cover for QC (Quade Cooper). For mine, QC (Quade Cooper) makes Fainga'a look good rather than the other way around. I would also pick TC before Fainga'a but would prefer that neither was picked for the Wallabies as neither are Test quality. My justification for TC...

Players we Should Have Selected Ahead of Salesi Ma'afu Based on Form

I understand your point and it has merit. I don't like Maafu much either. However I don't know how you can call Palmer's scrummaging world class with no tests and not that many Super Rugby caps.

Players we Should Have Selected Ahead of Salesi Ma'afu Based on Form

Vidiot, I'm with you. Palmer has carried his club rugby scrumming prowess far too far. He is definitely still "potential" imo rather than "class". He is very ineffective aways from the scrums. I'm not sure how you can pick him when we are having many games with less than 10 scrums? For...

    Waratahs 2012

I think part of the reason he needs to leave is that Dave Dennis had a better season than him and IMO the pecking order has changed. He is a better chance to get the No 6 jersey at the Brumbies and I think it is a good move for him and not a major loss for the Tahs (particularly if Alcock is...

    Waratahs 2012

Sorry, Lee, but I thought Roos was disappointing in that game particularly in the first half. Despite being a goer, I think he takes far too many poor options and is too small for 1st grade let alone Super Rugby.

NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2011

Luani made GPS 2s last year and he seemed to be as dominant a player as anyone in the GPS comp. It didn't stop him from making Aust Schools.

    What has happenned to advantage

My preferred philosophy on advantage is shorter advantages as it aids continuity and there is less wasted play. I have a different answer to the above question and it also relates to my philosophy. I think advanatge should be played when there is a strong chance of achieving advantage. In the...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2011

Sorry I wasn't asking if you wanted to be an actual GPS selector, I was asking you to pick your team or teams and post them on this forum.

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2011

Out of interest, who are the GPS selectors? Anyone actually prepared to be a selector and pick their own team. It seems a pretty tough job to me when there have been only 2 comp games and I would have thought it would be dangerous to pick on last year's form given how much a 16/17/18 year...

    Shute Shield 2011

Will they really have a lot tied up with Wallaby squads? Once the Tri-N gets undeway, they will focus on a match day 22 and I am assuming that they will take about 30 to the RWC. Those that will most likely be in that 22/30 are Barnes, Burgess and McCalman and possibly Mumm. Perhaps Phipps as...

    Al Baxter retires

Don't we already have Kearns and Cannon?

    Shute Shield 2011

I heard Mafi might be going to Wests but you can still throw in L.Mitchell, Huxley & Kingston. I think I might find a spot for McCalman & Dennis.

    Shute Shield 2011

It was great to see the Two Blues have another win. Can I just say how terrible Easts were today. They showed no penetration, missed 30 + tackles, took poor options all over the place and just kept turning over the ball. They even gave up 3 Tight Heads - when does that ever happen?
  19. Eyes and Ears

    Shute Shield 2011

While you may have a point, it might be a blessing not to play this year. It would be hard to look good given how badly they are playing.

    Shute Shield 2011

So you would recommend a lifetime ban for 1 mistake? I'm not sure that the punishment fits the crime. If this was the case, there wouldn't be any referees left.
