Australia v New Zealand - Sydney 16 Aug

Sums up my feelings about the first half. Beale finally flattened up a bit the last few minutes but he spent the first 30 standing so deep in general play that McCabe had to apply for an NZ visa. We look directionless in attack still

    JOC (James O'Connor) Gooonne

    He get any touches?

    Reds 2015

Meh - would have wanted him more as an S&C understudy and advisor than a player at 40 years young (also the opposite of the player profile we're looking for as a few have already point out).

Pack is what I was expecting it to be but I'm pretty ambivalent about these backs selections.. Backs selections have 'power game' written all over them, even more so if Tevita is on the bench. I'd reckon Kurtley got the nod at 10 in hopes of balancing this out. His long passing game the past...

Rewatching match v. B&I Lions and was reminded of this factoid: Going into Rd. 14 in 2013 the Queensland Reds were the only team in Super Rugby to not concede a bonus point. We have to get back to that standard.

When Cooper drops to 15 it's heresey but when Beale is hidden on the wing from fuckin' inside center it's clever - got it.

I could see Cottrell filling this role in a year or two if he continues to play well, but the cubboard does look bare for the immediate future. Think you're being a bit hard on Fardy though, his style of play compliments Hooper/Palu very well and it's not like he's a bad ball carrier by any...

    Reds 2015

I think they're talking about him as a person, not as an athlete. As a Melbourne fan you should be very familiar with how quickly things can get fucked if you have people who are great players on the field and total grubs off of it. Then you've got lazy trainers, etc..there's a lot more to...

    Reds 2015

Are they playing Reds A in some of those clips? That bloke who he stops dead in his tracks at 1:55 looks a lot like Curtis.

Can we call him Skewer 2.0?

Australia v New Zealand - Sydney 16 Aug

Yeah that's the amending I was referring to, when I saw Pocock with 0 in the 2011 QF I knew something was seriously wrong. Also struggling to find a provider with TW stats. Naturally, Rugby Heaven has all the live match blogs archived but I can't find a way to even see if they still have the...

The biggest thing for me is that there's no "ball slowed" stat. Pilfering is something that happens when you've gotten lucky while you're trying to slow the ball down ;) Turnover figures in the above may not be accurate, amending right now - one moment please!

Australia v New Zealand - Sydney 16 Aug

Agreed, his development since the last summer made me hesitant to even do the post at all. His pilfering technique, decision making and contact skills have come on a long way since then.

Australia v New Zealand - Sydney 16 Aug

The turnover stats below are for conceded, unfortunately I am totally unable to find a publicly available database for historical test matches that has a turnovers won stat recorded. Here are the raw stats from the last 3 games which Pocock, Hooper and McCaw played against New Zealand and...

I don't think lack of hunger has ever been an issue.

Are we done talking about a player who isn't even going to be in this test now? Godwin's Law strikes again..

Australia v New Zealand - Sydney 16 Aug

@Scoey Kuridrani used to play on the wing for UQ and maybe even for the Brumbies a bit but I don't think he's played there in quite a long time.

Australia v New Zealand - Sydney 16 Aug

KB (Kurtley Beale) gave away far too many easy meters both by being dominated in the tackle and making simple errors in his defensive reads against the Crusaders for me to be comfortable with him at 12. While I highly admire the edge on Beale's sickle right now, I think To'omua's hammer is more suited to the...

@Scrubber I too fell for this same feeling today - then I realized it's the longest we've gone without losing a game since February

Waratahs vs Crusaders 2014 Super Rugby Grand Final

Not sure how that could be construed as you being a dick - Palu's been immense this year! Good on the 'Tahs and it's awesome to have the Super Rugby trophy back in Australia. Was an awesome final just like I thought it would be :D
