    Australian Schoolboys 2014

Noticed there was no thread specifically for the next phase of the 2014 Schoolboys pathway. The team heads to Wellington in the last week of September to play Fiji Schools, before games against NZ Barbarians and NZ Schools in early October. There aren't many incumbents, but there are a few...

Not at all. The lack of AIC representation seems to suggest that having the term 2 season doesn't give them any advantage though.. The NSW trials are midway through their AAGPS season. The Queenslanders have all played between 3 and 6 trial games apiece. It just may be that this current trial...

    Reds 2014

My theory is Reg's secret weapon is James O'Connor. "There's only one piece missing that isn't there and that's confirmation from the Queensland Reds," Graham said at Ballymore on Monday. That's not a denial, that's just deciding to delay announcing the signing. Since losing Ant, options at 12...

Hi Blogs, thanks for the correction. I spoke with a few TGS boys from 2013 who mentioned that Farrell had to take over when Gilmore left - what's Elfanty's background like? Judging from the TSS/TGS trial his side looks very well coached Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I bumped in to the family of Levi Aumua, a fringe QLD U20s centre from GPS, and they informed me he had signed with Bordeaux in France for 2 years, 2015-16. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Every school has a fantastic coach/coaching pair. ACGS - Jason Gilmore - former Queensland U16s coach BBC - Tom Barker - former Wallaby, former Norths Prem Grade coach, former Brumbies Assistant Coach, as well as BSHS, Churchie, and Nudgee. A legend of rugby in Queensland BGS - Damon Emtage -...

I see the GT vs NC grudge match is to be played on a friday this year. Does anyone know why?

I think that may be outdated - hasn't Anthony Mathison been coaching the Filth's prem grade side the last year or two? Carl Marshall is indeed coaching the Queensland I side with Michael Crank though, filling in the rest of his time taking care of BGS' 15As side. Steven Partridge has 2 kids...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2014

I think Churchie, BBC, and Nudgee all have a chance to win but it will be very difficult to go undefeated this year. I can only think of one team who won't be able to realistically compete every game of the season. No prizes for guessing

SPC, SPLC, it's easy to get mixed up. In any case he will be claimed forevermore a BBC boy

QLD Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2014

I took down some notes for the game and saw Rodgers make 4 linebreaks (the most of any player on the day) and threaten with every touch. Conditions weren't fantastic last night, cold and damp for every game. I noticed plenty of handling errors from all teams. Today should be much better...

Yes, you're right. I assumed he was in the same position as Lakehm Aiono, but Lakehm turned 15 at the start of the U15 Rugby season (April 4), and was 17 turning 18 at the start of his 13th year. I'm wrong, turns out my maths skills really are as bad as I thought they were.

I went around and had a quick chat to a few players about the games, one of the more interesting ones was Ben Gunter. Gunters birthday is October 24, 1997. Last year he was playing number 8 at the age of 15 turning 16. If he chooses to repeat, he could play 4 years of First XV Rugby. What an...

QLD Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2014

He was sublime HJ. Wonder why he's no longer at the school. Funnily enough I was talking to one of the boys who trialled today and we got talking about Rogers. I made the comment that if he's in grade 11 this year I would bet my life savings he ends up at a GPS school next year. Guess I got my...
