2016 Under-20 Rugby World Championships - Manchester UK

How do you get that? Whether England gets a BP or not is irrelevant, we could qualify as the 4th team. But that would take, ideally, NZ beating Wales without a BP or Wales winning without a BP and France beating RSA or RSA winning without a BP. And surely two teams tied on pool points are...

Will you? No guarantee that you'll beat Wales and France respectively. We mightsneak a win over England, too, to add to the mix.

2016 Under-20 Rugby World Championships - Manchester UK

Yes- it is fantastic for U20 rugby and for senior rugby. We just need a good strong win against England. We can only hope Scotland tear them a new one.

2016 Under-20 Rugby World Championships - Manchester UK

To be fair to the starting team, they were backing up- I am surprised a few players weren't switched to ensure fresher legs against England.

NZ sunk by Ireland. Helps with the blow of the Scottish loss.

Nice touch on the welcome to country. Haven't seen that done before.

Ha! It isn't like England isn't on the bandwagon with that one.

    Western Force 2017

I like Rennie. Even though they are a pack of bastards, I like how the Chiefs try out different approaches to gaining an advantage in the game (e.g. if a kick-off is received and the jumper comes to ground and is not tackled, there is no offside line). Creative thinking. But the reason I think...

When you are working with mostly scraps you need to be the most innovative people going in order to make the most of what you have got. I loved a lot of what I heard about Peter Playford in the NRC. It would be great to get him over in some capacity. Hopefully he isn't sour about the deal...

Lopeti Timani at 8 for the last 20 would probablybe better than Palu ATM. But if you want to play Skelton and Pooper. You need a backrow jumper off the bench like Mumm or McCalman. Neither of those guys are great at impact either. This is why I reckon Cheika was foolish to cast Luke Jones aside...

I assume you mean Fardy, but McCalman is also competent in the line-out.

Maybe, but apart from New Zealanders, are there any 7s you would select ahead of him?

For a tall fellow he isn't half bad on the deck either. He has picked up a turnover per game in the last few he has played.

    Western Force 2017

The big problem with recruiting young talent from over east is that if they are good enough, they will typically go back. Siliva Siliva, Paul Alo-Emilie, Luke Jones, James O'Connor and Digby Ioane spring to mind. I guess it is the same risk with RSA players but you aren't paying through the nose...

Not a fan of Skelton and Palu in there but hard to argue with the rest.

Don't know. I guess the Reds don't really have a coach, Gibson at the Tahs isn't amazing and neither is Tony. Maybe it isn't Foley's coaching. All I know is that 3 years ago we had this kid with oodles of potential and courage in spades. Three years on it feels like he has regressed. I remember...

^^^^^^^^^ I love the kid but he really needs to go. He has the potential and for whatever reason (injuries/poor coaching/poor attitude- I don't know) he just isn't reaching it. But if he is going, let it be to the Brumbies and have him come back in 2 years. The Force might be better off looking...

Rebels v Force Rd 14 Sun 29th May

It's good because there was a bit of negative feedback on him from last year's NRC (chucking pies). For all the doom and gloom about the Force's performance in general, a couple of the local guys have been very promising (Scoble, Haylett-Petties, etc). Rebels are showing a lot at U20 level...

I love our little Ginger Nut (Scoble). For a younger fella, he plays a pretty solid game.
