Australian Schoolboys & National Championship 2010

I would hope the ARU learnt its lesson last year when they took a player on the UK tour who had signed with Cronulla. If they are contracted past the end of school to play senior league leave them out of the schools teams and let a player who is prepared to back himself in Union take their place.

Australian Schoolboys & National Championship 2010

Allan was in the NSW 1 schools team this year (he is only 16) and he is one of the big props from Newington that terrorised Joeys last weekend. he is also in the NSW JGS squad. A really good player with heaps of potential

    Waratah Shield 2010

Just saw a result that showed Sydney Boys High School winning a round 4 game of the Waratah Shield. Are they still in it?

    Waratah Shield 2010

Auggies play Mudgee on Thursday 26 August. I don't know who Stannies play. So far we have St Albans (?) playing All Saints supposedly in a semi and Auggies against Mudgee in a qtr final. Hills are supposedly in the semi (although I think that post is suspicious given the score) and Stannies we...

    Waratah Shield 2010

The Waratah Shiled is like a secret society and there is no info anywhere that I can find on this or past years competition other than some small snippets from forums like this or local newspaper articles.

I believe its down to the quarters. The only teams that I know arwelefyt were posted earlier - Hills Auggies Stannies Mudgee. Apparently Auggies are playing Mudgee sometime next week - don't know where dont know when. The semis must be played by the 30th August and the final is set for 6 Sept

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2010

Am I on GREEN and Gold or on Sportal. These are the same arguements and reasonings that were discussed endlessly there and possibly led to that forum being shut down. Don't care where the players come from so long as schools rugby is strong with the best available playing each other, the boys...

    Waratah Shield 2010

As its getting down to the serious end of this competition can anyone tell me who is left in it and what the next games are? I know Oakhill and St Augustines play this Saturday and that Hills Sports High is still in it but I cannot find any further information on this competition

Australian Schoolboys & National Championship 2010

I wouldn't say Auggies were ordinary. They played most of the game with only 14 players after their hooker was red carded for dissent and their defence was very strong (ask the Kinross centre that was hit by Purcell in a legal but absolutely smashing tackle -best i've seen all year). Their two...

NTS players in the Australian and Australian A schools?

That was trhe reason and I took no offence

NTS players in the Australian and Australian A schools?

NTS is the ARU's National Talent Squad. These are players who have been identified as having some potential for a future in the game. They are identified from tournaments conducted in the 15 and 16 years age group both at school and club level. They are included in the programme up until part...

NTS players in the Australian and Australian A schools?

Not all players who receive an invite to participate in the NTS take the offer up. So even though they are not involved in the programme doesn't mean they haven't had the opportunity or were not identified by the ARU in the past and are still highly thought of. Another reason is that at the age...

Australian Schoolboys & National Championship 2010

If you look at the sidesw selected for NSW and Qld this year you will see that very few of the 16's from 2009 have been selected in the open sides this year. i don't know why the reason for this in Qld but in NSW a lot of the boys from that winning 16's side are playing 2nd XV due to them being...

Hingano NSW2s last year Purcell NSW 16s last year Brisby NSW1s bench last year Dombkins - Wasn't he in the 16s as well Finally Mokofisi who is questionable. Hardly left field selections. Dombkins was in nsw 16's last year very mobile player, made Aus a at only 17 great work. also...

Australian Schoolboys & National Championship 2010

Todays games are qld1 v WA NSW11 v ACT NSW1 v CS Qld11 v Vic all these matches will provide some indiction of whether the day 1 form is creditable. Will Qld 1 put 70 on WA? Is WA a good yardstick for the merits of a side? Will ACT backup against NSW11 and give them a fight? Was the form...
