    Queensland Reds 2024

It's clearly the return of the XXXX push up boys, led by Reg. Either that or a mascot race between all the Brisbane/Qld team mascots.

Australian Super Rugby Team of the Week 2024

I rearranged that a few times but it never came out as anything other than ugly. Need to see a bit more competition between our props each round so I can make a bench that looks remotely workable.

Careful, keep complaining and I might take Williams away from you too ;)

All good, I was late to compile it so you made it in.

Very bloody nice, given they would've budgeted for the main team to be there at least until the semi's if not the final.

I don't see how player payments (as agreed to by RUPA in the CBA) could be part of it, otherwise you've got a situation where a head coach needs approval to pick guys from outside the wallaby top up group or where injuries could just easily create "unapproved overspending". Similarly I would've...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Given this is being described as unapproved overspend I can't see how it could be things like player payments or payout for sacked assistants. More likely it's for bringing in extra consultants, travel and accommodation spending, cattle prods and possibly things like flying the players partners...

Apparently the world cup overspend was $2.6 million: Edit: seems it was considered "unapproved spending" and was the reason for some staff sackings:

Super Rugby 2024: NZ, Drua & Moana matches

Nothing brings so much shared joy to the entire super rugby fan base as a struggling Crusaders.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

He does have a bit of a turn of pace when he needs it, but it's probably more the consistent pace for repeated rucks efforts and ability to maintain it across at least 60 minutes that I think he might be lacking, particularly as a player fresh to super rugby. If he had a couple of years...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

I did think about Dobbins before I remembered Hebert was there. Not sure he has the pace in his game to play as a starting super rugby 7, but it would be a way to get a decent lineout thrower on while still using Uelese's bulk and scrummaging. Depends on whether Mafi is dropped or injured...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Yeah, I thought the lack of on ball presence was a big part of the problem in the first half vs the force too. No threat at their rucks meant the could get good quick ruck ball to attack with and the extra bodies in the rebels line didn't really help when guys like Potter, Tiatia and Burey...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Wilkin out for 10 weeks with a grade 3 hamstring injury. Might need a bit of luck to make it back on the field before the end of the season: Is Hough also injured for a while? Rebels might be playing big backrows without a fetcher for the rest of the season.

Round 3: Reds vs Chiefs, 6:45pm AEST - Saturday 9th of March @ Suncorp

Could do, I think having Campbell at the back is going to be key for this game, him playing his role to perfection was a big part of how we beat the Chiefs last year. For all Petaia's talent his kick returns have been a mixed bag and often ended in turnovers. That said, your numbers are way...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Rugby Victoria have a vote, but the Rebels vote was tied to their licence, with it back in RA's hands the vote tied to it is now null and void.

Chris Evans (former CEO) stood down late last year: https://vic.rugby/news/rugby-victoria-announces-departure-of-ceo I'm not sure they've made a permanent appointment since.

Round 3: Reds vs Chiefs, 6:45pm AEST - Saturday 9th of March @ Suncorp

I'm hoping that game against the hurricane's means there's no way we won't be prepared for a physical battle going in - they'll know what to expect and the coaches will have hammered home the need to be ready for it from kick off. Of course it may also be that they're battered and bruised, but...
