Pressure on the Waratahs to make the Finals

Probably came along for the sandwiches and biscuits afterwards like all the old buffers who turn up to Company AGMs. I'm allowed to say that, being a gerry myself.

    Sharks v. Tahs - 2011R15

I have spent two-and-a-half-seasons trying to decipher "Hickey's game plan", Iltw, but he's much too inscrutable for me. I thought I had a read on him in the first two matches this season, but it seems that was just an unfortunate aberration. I suppose the good thing is that opposition coaches...

    Sharks v. Tahs - 2011R15

No dispensation at all for mine, DPK. Let Hangers do the kicking. We have to get rid of this tendency to thoughtlessly kick ball away. Let's have ball through the hands. It would be an interesting change of game plan for the 'Tahs. At 12 I think Berrick would be much more effective if he were...

    Shute Shield 2011

A very interesting and perhaps perceptive comment, Albert, not that I'm in any position to advise on its accuracy.

    Sharks v. Tahs - 2011R15

Would it not make more sense to play Hangers at 10 and Berrick at 12? A much stronger defensive structure. And having done that, would it not make even more sense to tell Berrick that the first time he kicks the ball he'll be hooked? A much stronger attacking structure.

Informational Flash interactive : The Rugby Rules.

I didn't get to say that I think that this is a very worthwhile initiative with considerable potential.

RF, there is a truck load of work to be done on this draft if the section on the Scrum is anything to go by: Scrum: a contested restart of the ball after a penalty Perhaps "a contested restart of the game after a free kick or penalty" although it can be after other stoppages as well. 3...

Rd 15 Waratahs MOM v Sharks

Alcock was the inside defender and therefore it was more his responsibility to pick up Lambie. He also apparently missed six tackles in the game, not what you need from a 7.

    Reds v. Crusaders, May 29th, Suncorp - 2011R15

One would hope, Godfrey, a bloody sight more excited than we New South Welshmen get. But when you've got two newspapers apparently each giving five full pages to the game that seems to me over the top and unsustainable.

    Reds v. Crusaders, May 29th, Suncorp - 2011R15

Settle down, Queenslanders, this is not the Final. It's just another regular season game that may very well not live up to the hype as a spectacle. I hope the players are not as psyched up as the punters. If the 'Tahs can't get there I hope your boys go all the way. But it's a Melbourne Cup...

J'OC won't be playing 12 for the Wallabies

It's interesting then, WJ, that Deans has never shown the slightest interest in or intent of using that type of inside centre.

J'OC won't be playing 12 for the Wallabies

Deans said his Wallabies were a group that were clearly "on the ascendancy". Ascendancy? On what basis? Thirty minutes of French capitulation? The game before that we beat Italy. And immediately before that we got flogged by England. "He is going to fill out a lot more, his key position...

    Force v Hurricanes 2011R15

It might not be quite what you meant, daz, but I just make the observation that experience in making losing speeches is hopefully not a criterion for selection of our World Cup captain.

    Fainga'a Bias?

That's drawing a very long bow, BG. Elvis's skin folds were off the scale in the last couple of seasons of his career. And his 40 metre sprint could have been timed with an alarm clock.

    Brumbies vs Stormers @ Canberra - 2011R15

My view on this, DPK, is that exercising with the MyoLifta would make the lifters more powerful and less prone to fatigue in elevating a weight from knee height to full extension overhead. As a direct consequence of this they would become much better able to cope with and adjust to the sort of...

    Brumbies vs Stormers @ Canberra - 2011R15

Actually, Jnor, over time it is likely that the MyoLifta will be used for general conditioning rather than strictly for rugby. There is no other apparatus or exercise that has such a range of vertical displacement and recruitment of different muscle groups. When a bar bell is taken from floor...

    Brumbies vs Stormers @ Canberra - 2011R15

Yes, DPK, the MyoLifta could very easily be fitted with customised handles. It's interesting you mention fitting it with "a section of a mannequin". We built a prototype machine quite a few years ago and used a moulded section of a torso from waist to knees. It significantly added to the cost...

    Brumbies vs Stormers @ Canberra - 2011R15

Thank you, Jnor, well spotted. This is the first image of the MyoLifta, a revolutionary new machine specifically developed for rugby. It is designed to improve the elevating ability of players lifting and supporting jumpers in the lineout. It can be operated singly or by two players...

    Reds v. Crusaders, May 29th, Suncorp - 2011R15

Would there be a basis for legal action against Link for grouping G&GR with that other place?

    Sharks v. Tahs - 2011R15

Particularly when he has excellent cattle and a side that has the benefit of having very largely played together for quite a long time. And when the coach has had them for three seasons.
