Have you ever seen him play? en_for_cer, I just don't get the Sidey signing. Has he ever done anything outside of dropping Ndungane on his head?

Timani at 6? Jones or Mowen should have been called in.

Great news for the big boy. Pyle's time will come. Deans seems to be looking for a raw, physical lock who can throw his weight around.

2012 Rugby Championship R5G1 Springbokke vs Wallabies @ the Bull Ring

Worth remembering that Beale played three games for the Rebels at fly-half this season and absolutely slayed each time. People were seriously talking about him being the Wallabies first choice 10 before he got injured. It's a shame he can't come in at 100% fitness, but it's the option we've got.

Anyone still feel like defending him?

    Rebels 2013

Spot on. As for the young one, do you mean PAE? He hardly got any game time in fairness, and was an absolute beast at age group level. Was part of a completely dominant Australian scrum. He's still very young, might just take him some time.

Ahh come on now. The first of those two tries was off a dart about a meter from the line where Wyatt Crockett, from memory, pretty much waved him through. The second was him running a good support line off a Gerrard linebreak. That was the game that got people really talking about Beale playing...

Can't speak for everyone but I just don't think they're equal on talent. I think Stirzaker gets to the breakdown quicker, takes better options when he gets there, has an equally good running game and a much better pass. He's not quite as big yet, and possibly not as active in defence - but the...

All of this. He carried us in a couple of games this year. Absolutely monumental in that game when we got completely bitchslapped by the Brumbies, was one of the best games by any Australian player all year. Staggers me when people don't want him in the team.

Excellent - well, the Morne playing bit, not the injuries to F. Steyn and Goosen. Full article here: http://www.theage.com.au/rugby-union/union-news/morne-steyn-in-frame-to-play-wallabies-with-goosen-and-frans-steyn-in-doubt-20120925-26ieq.html

Fair enough, I must have remembered wrong. Still think Jones offers more around the ground, including the lineout, and has a greater upside than Saffy. Do we even know if Saffy is going to play again yet?

    Rebels 2013

I'd prefer Higgers at 8, if only because I think it will be more useful for Australian rugby having him playing at 6/8. I think Jones is too good to be on the bench, led the Rebels for tackles and had the highest tackle average for the competition from memory - something like 16 per game.

    Rebels 2013

I think most of us thought that, especially getting towards the end of the season this year. Probably the best example was when Stirzaker got about 30 minutes at the end of the Rebels - Stormers game and really took it on. Made a break and offload that set up a try, chased down Deon Fourie (I...

I really don't get the manlove for Mitchell. He's the very definition of a workmanlike player. He tries hard, but isn't particularly fast or particularly strong. Makes some horrendous defensive reads when he plays on the wing, but is a solid one-on-one tackler. Makes plenty of half-breaks but...

Mitchell is a better centre than JOC (James O'Connor)? I'm out of this thread.
