    Where to for Super Rugby?

I think Sir Humphrey would be most impressed with the one Foxtel comms have designed especially for our Super Rugby coaches: 'Dew on the pitch tonight has really contributed to all the handling errors we've seen'.

    Reds 2017

The real, core true 'fault' in this context that really matters and that deeply echoes in everything that has gone wrong for the Reds 2005-9 and 2013-17 can be quickly summed up thus: Apart from a very brief period (2010-11 that was more luck than judgement and that arose from a near-death...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Please despatch the above to the ARU's 'Corporate Strategy' department. It's yearning for knowledge, and is 'trying to learn from experience'. It's evidently still at the 'scenario' stage of evolution.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

stoff, even if you are right, hasn't the whole Rebels' business look-forward calculus darkened considerably with (a) the very poor 2017 levels of Rebels' crowds and (b) the matching poor Rebels w-l ratio, etc, etc? The economic, cash flow and general risk impact of these negatives must be...

    Brumbies 2018

    Oh, OK, thanks for clarifying.

    Brumbies 2018

Ummm, yes. Pevsersely the ARU now concedes it had serious doubts about the viability of the Rebels - and the whole 5 Aus Super team set up - the very year they themselves started the Rebels and their investment in them. As the Yanks would say, go figure.

The catering side, and limo transfers, absolutely yes.

    Brumbies 2018

Mate I get that of course re the lost millions via the Rebels; I just wanted to make the point re the massive, massive opportunity cost to Australian rugby of that failure (which was pre-destined IMO). But my other points re current operational cost waste today - in $millions - is valid and...

    Brumbies 2018

^^^^ @mst You clearly didn't understand my point, or I'm sorry if I expressed it badly. I fully appreciate the 'superior money' aspect from the NH. My point being though that (a) this truth makes it even more critical for Australia rugby to stop wasting the serious quantum of $millions it...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Don't forget one aspect: the Aus Super coaches - such redoubtable high performers all - will welcome this respite from the pressure they are under as one can sense their latest excuse-making has very recently taken a most convenient turn whereby they increasingly refer to 'look at the problems...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Perhaps it's a quiet rip off of Kevin Rudd's National Ideas Summit of (was it?) 2008 that Cate Blanchett attended so prominently? That helped transform Australia didn't it? I suspect this ingenious Coaching Summit will do the same for Australian Rugby.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Brett Whittaker Rumour has it Pulver keeps demanding the HPU's quarterly KPI Update, but oddly it seems constantly lost in the ARU's typing pool (can't afford word processors).

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Lo and Behold Things are looking up. There's to be a 'coaches summit' 'within the next month' hosted by the ARU HPU. http://www.couriermail.com.au/sport/rugby/aru-to-hold-coaching-crisis-summit-as-australian-super-rugby-results-plummet/news-story/6003200c581fe62ca904d41461cac4f1 They believe...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

EDIT, later: Andrew Cox now quoted in News Corp online as 'not having received a buy-back offer from the ARU'.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

    1. When we cannot even afford proper coaching systems and resources to fund our grassroots, can you imagine anything more strategically insane than the ARU using its threadbare funds in $s millions to 'buy back' the Rebels, a franchise already a major failure on objective grounds and still...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Only in 'our ARU' could we have a situation where a parent is to be potentially bankrupted by its most newly-born child (and where the cost of the legal proceedings from the child are likely indirectly funded by the parent's cash). Could the perversity and utter stupidity of that scenario be...

Chiefs v Reds, Rd 11, Sat May 6th, 5;35pm AEST

The panic-driven re-hiring of QC (Quade Cooper) was in significant part driven by Cordingley (why he continues to hold his job I will never know) and the then 'Head of QRU Rugby Department' Herbert (wholly unqualified for that role) realising just how poor was McIntyre and instead of taking (in my view) the...
