    Reds 2020

Have we heard anything yet from Justin Harrison/RUPA on the Reds Three exodus?

    Reds 2020

Pretty gutted. Rodda can get his wish and go and be captain of the NCC Communications Shining Arcs now I guess.

    Reds 2020

The move is definitely landing flat with fans if social media is anything to go by. Horrible optics for the three of them.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Strong agree. The domestic comp has to be a valuable stand alone event all on its own - winning IT is special. Subsequent qualification to the next ‘champions league’ comp is the cream on top. If the domestic comp is run purely as a qualification tool it’ll fall flat.

    Wallabies 2020

I think Reg posted a clip recently of Reece Hodge using this down time to really knuckle down and work on a couple of his weaknesses - his acceleration and top end speed. Hopefully Valetini/Naisarani/Wilson were all doing the same with their vertical leap/line out skills.

    Aussie Player Exodus

Let me guess - another ‘high quality’ Pandaram/Halloran penned article?

I was just thinking that. Who the hell are you meant to be working for? Add in his supposed cosiness and backgrounding with Halloran over at the Australian (who has about as much subtlety as a sledgehammer). This whole thing just absolutely stinks.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Mate I’d do it for free. It’s literally my dream job!

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Whether this happens, or when this condensed 5/6 team Australian Super Rugby comp gets off the ground, I reckon we should be moving heaven and earth to get Sean Maloney commentating.

Looks like the ‘Too Many Tahs’ rallying cry is spilling over into the administration field too! In all serious I’m not sure what to make of this, but it seems.... significant?

    World Rugby Chairman

Clive Woodward certainly not mincing words with his thoughts on the vote! https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/rugbyunion/article-8281035/SIR-CLIVE-WOODWARD-Good-luck-Bill-Beaumont-World-Rugby-win-remains-carve-up.html

Which article is this? Surely that could never happen. Surely!

Reckon this points to Beaumont retaining the chairman role.

Sumo Stevenson is reporting that a NZ 5 team home and away Super competition is locked in. Surely that torpedos our hopes of a 2020 TT comp?

    Ta. I appreciate the insight!

Genuine question: why a hard pass on James Sutherland? Like KOB, I don’t know much about his tenure at CA. But whoever the next CEO is I want it to be someone ultra experienced in wrangling player power, state alignments, and broadcast deals.

Great article by Paul Cully posted above. Also, Malcolm Knox has chimed in and boy he does not miss: https://www.smh.com.au/sport/amateur-hour-returns-as-castle-crumbling-sends-rugby-back-to-the-past-20200424-p54mtn.html

    Reds 2020

I know it’s only footy and health is more important etc etc, but for the first time in aaaages my mates (previous huge rugby fans but have slowly dropped off one by one over time for a number of reasons) were getting excited about the Reds and tuning back in again. Ergh.

I think this is very well said. I don’t think she was perfect, but overall I liked the changes she was trying to enact. Some ambitious but vital stuff, like exploring new broadcast options, that I really admired and saw as important for improving the health of the game. I fear this coup will be...
