Rewarding DP by dropping him to the bench is a bit tough, I reckon. He needs solid game time to develop, and he is developing nicely just fine at 12.

British & Irish Lions tour of New Zealand (2017)

Great effort by the remains 14 ABs to almost get up. Not my favourite type of match to watch, as I thought quite a bit of the Lions play was quite cynical (I fucking hate that crap), but was certainly exciting from a scoreline perspective - so that made up for it. SBW - sickening act...

I agree. It was that Ben Tapuaii moved overseas and is not available for selection. Therefore, Foley didn't drop the ball - Ben Tapuaii did.

DP isn't a 15 at this point in time IMO. Hunt is a super rugby level 15, so we need to keep him there. I would obviously prefer to see Hunt continue at 12 for the sake of the wobblies, the reds have just an odd line up that can't accommodate that. Shifting DP back to 15 now will fuck him...

There's no question Cooper reads the game better than Foley, but QC (Quade Cooper)'s form this year has been horrifically bad. It's unbelievable that he's in the squad, even mores that he's on the field. Foley's a very capable, test level 10 with a consistently poor kicking game and ordinary defence which...

    The Wallabies Thread

There's trying, and then there's trying. I have no doubt the players are turning up to training and getting sweaty. They're putting in what they're told to do. But are they doing the extras to fix their personal deficiencies? Are they hiring personal sports psychologists to help them with...

Like the Fiji match, we will fail to capitalise on the superiority we should have. A number of our players lack mental fortitude.

What???? Why the fuck does Foley need someone breathing down his neck in order to perform? Surely, being a professional athlete he is motivated to be better than his opposition and Excel in his chosen sport? His goal surely can't be just to be picked, but rather to outplay the opposing team...

Australia v Scotland, 3:00pm 17 June Sydney Football Stadium

There's no question that there are systemic issues, but surely you can't be serious that professional athletes shouldn't take ownership of their own careers? Quade's ineptitude at tackling (and getting sent off repeatedly) and tendency to drop off his flat passes to make them look forward is...

Multiple coaching setups. multiple levels of coaching experience. Varying levels of coaching success across multiple competitions and countries. Vast differences in coaching backgrounds. Australian rugby players can't execute the skills necessary to win. The common denominator is the...

The coach can only yell "faster" at the players so much. The players have to push themselves at training - they quite clearly don't. The evidence is in their performances. Edit -this frustrating to watch week in week out.

Quite a bit of negativity towards the coaches, but at what point to the players actually have to take e responsibility for their own incompetence? "something we've talked about all week" is a phrase used so often by the Australian rugby players - but never "something we worked on through the...

    Reds 2017

How does someone who is failing as a super rugby head coach mentor someone else who is failing as a super rugby head coach into becoming a winning super rugby head coach? I absolutely believe that there is nothing that can be gained by bringing in yet another coach with a history of failure in...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Alternatively, someone other than the QRU must run the reds - because they can't be allowed to continue.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Seriously, why not drop the reds out of super rugby? WA and Vic (and probably the ACT - I don't really know) need the super rugby team for rugby to have some relevance for those states. And given time, they'll breed their own players (other than Act of course) and have decent local comps...
