Australia Vs Argentina, September 13, Gold Coast

I wouldn't make many changes to the team. TPN onto the bench if he's available. No idea of Sio's status but he's presumably not match fit. No rest for Slipper. He gets a week off next week. He's consistently been one of our best forwards. His ability to get over the advantage line is making...

    Australia v South Africa - Perth - 6 September 2014

That starting pack could be worth a look. Not sure about carrying Skelton and Simo on the bench. seems like overkill.

Re the scrums - Slipper seemed to be struggling at the end of the first and in the second. He was clearly suffering from something. They became clear because the scrum regained its composure once Cowan came on.

Beale was good off the bench. I like the combo of starting with To'omua at 12 and bring Beale on late in the game

    Australia v South Africa - Perth - 6 September 2014

great game! Wallabies were poor for most of the first half but the substitutes in the final 15 minutes made a big difference. I thought Link got the selections in the backs just right. The pack still needs tinkering. Carter/Simo/Palu were sloppy again. Higgers and Horwill are banging on the...

    Australia v South Africa - Perth - 6 September 2014

Good to see Tomane, Speight and Genia all back on the paddock. With TPN also likely to return for the upcoming road trip, the Wallabies could finish the RC strongly. It is imperative that we win this weekend tho. Anything less than 3 wins from our last four will be a poor result.

I think outside backs, more than other players, tend to reach an age where they don't have the speed and agility they once had. Bryan Habana seems to be an exception to the rule atm. They tend to be the ones that head overseas first.

    Australia v South Africa - Perth - 6 September 2014

Finishing the game with Horwill/Higgers/Simo leaves you with 3 strong line-out options. If you are ever going to play two 7s that's what you want.

    Australia v South Africa - Perth - 6 September 2014

Looks like Link is giving his first choice pack a chance to redeem themselves after last week. Given that they'd won 7 on the trot before their last game, I guess that's fair enough. Surprised Carter kept his spot though. He needs to make an impact this weekend, or make way. Hodgson selection...

    Reds 2015

JOC (James O'Connor)'s versatility should be invaluable to the Reds. He's decent 10/12. I doubt you'd ever win a world cup with JOC (James O'Connor) playing those positions, but at Super level he's quality. As an outside back he's world class. I'd probably play him at fullback first. if Hunt really performs he could become the...

    Reds 2015

Looking at the squad it looks like we'll have a quality 23 when everyone is fit but im not sure we have enough depth in the tight five to deal with injuries throughout the season. Say what you want about the Hunt signing but I reckon its a major coup for the ARU with the coverage/interest he...

    Reds 2015

I think we need at least 1 probably 2 props and an extra lock. Looks like we have enough quality from 9 to 15 and decent outside back aren't that hard to come by in OZ, compared to quality tight five players

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Sad to see us lose McCabe, but it certainly opens the door for a few players to make the world cup squad. Goodwin, Lilo and Hunt are probably the players most likely to benefit.

    New ARU Contracting post 2016

I've been one of the people asking for this type of concession for a while. Great idea that will give the ARU better bargaining power without actually increasing player payments. We'll still lose some players but this will ensure that we lose less

    Australia v South Africa - Perth - 6 September 2014

Braveheart hits the nail on the head by stating that after the pack performed so badly you need at least a few heads to roll. At the same time most of those guys in the starting side deserve a chance to show they are better than that, because they are. In reality the guys that I think should...

    Australia v South Africa - Perth - 6 September 2014

Ok so its been about 5 days since iv posted on G&GR and after the massive disappointment that was Saturday's game, I'm ready to get behind the side again. I told my mate on Sunday "Wallabies 4 life". The team will always have my support but sometimes those bad losses sting. part of being a...

    New Zealand v Australia - Auckland - 23 August 2014

Interesting post. I always thought Graham Henry was a great coach. Could have easily won 2 world cups. I'm still not sure about Hansen. You cant argue with his record, but at the end of the day he will be judged on whether he wins the world cup.

    New Zealand v Australia - Auckland - 23 August 2014

haha I realised he was troll (or delusional) after the words "get beat up physically around the park all night". Not bloody likely. Cant wait for Skelton to start smashing into people in the last 20 minutes.

    New Zealand v Australia - Auckland - 23 August 2014

I think the most like scenario is a close loss for the wallabies this weekend and then a win at Suncorp in the third game. Hansen will predictably clamour about how it was a dead-rubber and didn't mean anything.
