RWC: AUS v WAL (Twickenham): POOL A; 2:45am (AEDT) Sunday 11 October

After Australia win tonight it'll be interesting to see which of CH and Cheika cracks first in the Mexican standoff to announce their team. Oh god! There. the optimism gnome is back in town. I'll have to dig out one of my dvds of classic welsh rugby disasters from the 90s to calm down.

RWC: GEO v NZ (Millenium): Pool C

Every 4 years rugby fans of tier 1 nations the world over express their joy at the performance of some plucky team or other and suggest ways that they could be given a leg up via Super franchises or extended international series. then the RWC finishes and nothing happens nor will it ever. Too...

RWC: GEO v NZ (Millenium): Pool C

Still might not work. The reason these so called minnows are doing well is that many of them are top pro players plying their trade in top leagues. The lack of international commitments makes them attractive to clubs. Increasing international matches will make them less so.

RWC: AUS v WAL (Twickenham): POOL A; 2:45am (AEDT) Sunday 11 October

All depends on tomorrow Lindommer. If Australia win you'll be playing the Ystradgynlais 2nd XV next week

RWC: IRE v ITA (Olympic Stadium): POOL D

Think it will be dire game for 40 mins. Ireland will gradually dominate then Schmidt will try and shut the game down asap taking the first XV players off.

RWC: FIJ v WAL (Millenium): POOL A

I heard Ickle on the commentary the other day explaining that they kick to gain metres quickly, which is fine provided that the kick follow up is competitive, which atm it isn't. Davies persistently kicks to far

RWC: FIJ v WAL (Millenium): POOL A

Seems to me wales, since CH is going to persist in mobility over power, need to start hooking the ball to get it into back row quicker

RWC: FIJ v WAL (Millenium): POOL A

Kicking game has become an obsession. We got too good at it this year with Rhys and 1/2p. But neither of them is there. The guys on here are seeing a conspiracy and a one-eyed Irish ref. I know I've only got the other eye open but having rewatched it as slowly as I can bear to I cant see it...

RWC: GEO v NZ (Millenium): Pool C

Fair point. Did the All Blacks get through unscathed re: injuries? Missed the game. Cant manage three early starts in a row. regret it now

RWC: FIJ v WAL (Millenium): POOL A

Why? Black 14, poor sod, was Fiji's best player. I seriously dont think cuthbert was capable of a deliberate knock on. Would imply he got something right.

RWC: FIJ v WAL (Millenium): POOL A

I actually prefer Lacey to Poite

RWC: FIJ v WAL (Millenium): POOL A

Haha. Not the whole thing mostly Lacey's decisions that I didn't get and some I thought I had got. Some still beyond me mind. Message to Australian team. Dont draw on Saturday in a four try festival. Does my head in trying to work out what happens then.

RWC: FIJ v WAL (Millenium): POOL A

Name of the game for Wales was to get through awkward fixture unscathed with a win to maintain the pressure on Orcland. Now on Saturday it's up to Australia to match Wales.

RWC: FIJ v WAL (Millenium): POOL A

We agreed last night that they weren't getting the rub of the decisions and I stand by that. I've watched it again tho and in slo mo there was a fair bit going on both sides.

RWC: FIJ v WAL (Millenium): POOL A

But their forwards weren't v good at anything other than scrum. And whilst I do think that some decisions should've gone to Fiji, they also got away with as much in the breakdowns. Lacey was dire but the record shows Fiji are not easy to ref

RWC: FIJ v WAL (Millenium): POOL A

didn't I hear Cheika say 'I didn't know there were bonus points in RWC'. Cement has said something similar too

RWC: FIJ v WAL (Millenium): POOL A

It's true and it is a shame they were never taking the ball at any speed. But then again when they were playing at their best after half time it was a form of 15-man sevens, which is a game that doesnt have line speed.
