    No Ben Mowen thread?

I don't want anything from him. I'm just saying that I don't believe his move is all about his family. If he got the ARU top-up he was looking for, I don't think he'd be going anywhere. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

New French TV Deal - Implications for Rugby as a whole

On the flip side, does this deal give the ARU any clout with Fox?

New French TV Deal - Implications for Rugby as a whole

The lure of pulling on the black jersey has kept many a player who might have gone overseas. More money will definitely make it harder to say 'No'.

Best Marquee player recruited by a Australian Super Rugby team

The Reds were almost as good for Braid as he was for the Reds. He never really dominated in NZ for the Blues. Luke is looking pretty bloody good though.......I hope he has another cracker season and gives guys like Cane and Todd a real run for than 2nd spot behind McCaw.

    No Ben Mowen thread?

I don't know if he set the story straight but rather just put his side of the story out there. While I'm sure that the family reasons had a large bearing on his decision, I wonder if he would still be going to France if the ARU had offered him a top-up contract. My thinkinging is that it was...

    Sonny Bill

Really? DJ Forbes weighs in at 103 kgs, Tim Mikkelson is 103kgs, AMbrose Curtis is 100kgs, Bryce Heem 105kgs. He'll need to work on his fitness and his work at the break-down but SBW has shown he's not scared of hard work or a willingness to learn. He's not super-quick by 7's standard but that...

If you could change the laws of rugby, what would you change?

This is an Australian issue - not a rugby union problem and has nothing to do with the rules of the game. Young Islander kids play rugby in every country they can. Look at how many are starting to represent non-PI countries!

    John I Dent Cup 2014

nah bro....I've hung up the boots. Time to give it a rest

    John I Dent Cup 2014

All I'll say is that I've only played 3 years in the ACT with 3 different clubs - Vikings being the last one and easily the best. Good bunch of guys, well-resourced and they didn't keep trying to push me to prop even after being told I've never played prop and I have no clue how to scrum. Hope...

If you could change the laws of rugby, what would you change?

Man….I don't know what you guys are talking about?!? I LOVED watching rugby this year. Yes, there were some boring games and there were some controversial calls but FML….THAT'S SPORT!!

    Ireland vs All Blacks

High tackles and lifting tackles are intiated by the tackler and have a high degree of risk and danger no matter what the outcome is. There was no danger in that tackle. Going from that, all a ball carrier has to do is be in the air when they are tackled and it's a penalty. How many times do...

The impending Hooper vs Pocock Dilemma

The 'only' reason?! C'mon…..he's been good but he's not even close to being 'best of the best' yet. Definitely not this year.

    Ireland vs All Blacks

Well it's stupid. There was absolutely no real safety issue in the tackle which is what the law is supposed to be about.

    Ireland vs All Blacks

Just talking about the game with the boys at work and the ridiculous penalty given against Read for tacking in the air. Couldn't believe that call. Does this mean that if I jump in the air before getting tackled, I'll win a penalty??

The impending Hooper vs Pocock Dilemma

In a full strength squad, it's hard to see Mowen starting. Play Higgers at 8 and Fardy at lock. Or, Fardy to 6, Pocock to 8 (I know, I know...lol) and Higgers on the bench (I'm still not sold on Higgers AT ALL but I didn't watch a lot of Rebels games this year and I heard he improved in the...

    Ireland vs All Blacks

I only saw the 2nd half but it just looked like the Irish had the most possession in the 1st half and we had the bulk of it in the 2nd. This All Black team is just too good on attack to give them that much possesion.

The impending Hooper vs Pocock Dilemma

I've said for a while that you could look at having Pocock at 6. Hooper at 7....that would be a pretty mean combo and would take the need off Hooper to be as involved at the breakdown.

    are the IRB nuts ?

In an effort to try and find an AB doing anything close to this tip tackle, previous posters had to go all the way back to 2005. So you see, the easy way to stop worrying about the inconsistency of the IRB judicary is to stop making silly tip-tackles. We haven't had to worry about it for a...

    are the IRB nuts ?

Just saw the incident for the first time last night. Completely and totally Kurindrani's fault. If you don't want your fate to be held with the IRBs citing and judicial process, don't do stupid things like that tackle. Pretty easy really. The more I think about it, the more I don't really care...
