Molnan - I agree Rennie wasn’t talking just about White and definitely included reference to the ping pong battles, but I still felt his comments extended across our general kicking and handing the ball back, which White was guilty of. I guess I find it odd that everyone points to McDermott’s...

I thought you did a great job. It was a good watch.

Yeah - I thought that was gold.

I’ll wade in. Yes - box kicking is important. But box kicking well is about both execution and decision making. We kicked too much ball away at times this year and White was the chief culprit. He’s also inaccurate at times. Pretty sure Rennie said exactly that after one of the tests (although...

With regards to the debate that went on about whether or not Jones could still coach, interesting to see comments from the likes of Genia, Chris Robshaw, Owen Farrell & James Haskell endorsing his capabilities. Genia (whom Jones coached in the 2007 Qld Reds season that was seen by many as a...

Anyone got any details on the Reds trials. I know the are playing the Santos Festival again. Any other set dates?

Ryan Lonergan, Kalani Thomas & Teddy Wilson are all very highly rated. I believe Louis Werchon is also rated highly. Those are the guys I am aware of - I’d assume there are others in the various Super squads.

Yeah - and there is still a you tube clip of Quade Cooper flattening Rene Ranger. I’d expect any pro rugby player would be able to make the occasional clean shot. It doesn’t mean he’s a dominant tackler.

I suspect Lonergan will continue to come along. I just think it’s a lie to say he physically dominates the tackle. He does appear to have sound technique though. He was picked very young and, unsurprisingly, struggled with the physicality required. He still does. This also impacts his...

I thought he was better last year than the year before. I still think he has a fair way to go. I’m sure you’ve seen more of him than me but he still seemed to play light to me. I don’t recall him being dominant at all. Good workrate and mobility though.

Wasn’t Fittler’s son a reserve in the u16 game? The kid could be a great pick up - I believe I’ve seen him once so I’m in no position to judge but why would we consider him a priority signing?

Yeah - but hopefully we can keep John O’Neill away from it this time.

I thought that RA were on record as having wanted to reduce the OS selections. I’d assume he would have been pretty adamant on Koroibete and Kerevi. I’m guessing he’ll also want the option to pick Cooper and one of the OS locks (although I think it is conceivable, but unlikely he could back the...

    Wallabies 2023

I think that lacks context. My recollection is he had a bunch of Australia’s golden generation at the end of their career and some accused him of sticking with them too long instead of moving them on. A few had injury issues. George Gregan was the most notable because there was a significant...

Just to be reiterate - I’m not actually concerned Jones is going to come in with a tactic to de-power our scrum again.

    Wallabies 2023

We used to collapse scrums, wheel scrums, use soft engagements - anything to avoid the scrum as a contest. Our props were picked for work rate around the field and it didn’t matter they couldn’t hold the scrum up. Then the refs starting penalising collapsed and illegal wheeling. We paid for it...
