Good news for two reasons: 1) A lock. 2) 2018.

Yes, but did the Reds CEO have experience in player recruitment? I think the danger is more doing too much; "I don't have time to talent-spot, just grab me 2 locks and a centre".

    5) Re-sign Mafi and then clone him.

Many might disagree with me, but I think Baden can spot player talent, so from a playing roster perspective I think it's good. I expect coach changes to come next.

In a nutshell, Daz, in a nutshell!

Changes afoot at Rebels HQ: https://melbournerebels.com/2017/06/04/rebels-promote-stephenson-to-ceo/ "This appointment is the first of a number of changes and announcements that we will be making as we position the Club for the 2017 NRC season and 2018 Super Rugby season, after a difficult...

    Mafi is one year.

Brumbies v Rebels, June 3, 7:45pm, Canberra Stadium

They would say that is unfair because they won every other game. Good plan then!

That was the point I was making too - the grapes can't be sour if you are accepting the situation.

I was going to look it up and try and discredit you, but you said that with such confidence I will go along.

I don't get your use of the sour grapes reference, he was being critical. You would normally make a reference to sour grapes to someone making excuses, so please explain your use of the phrase in this instance.

Brumbies v Rebels, June 3, 7:45pm, Canberra Stadium

If an Aussie team deserves a finals berth this season, the Brums are the only ones. So, congrats and I can only hope we are around next season to right all these wrongs.

    I'll go with Timani.

His denial was fairly weak, tbh. Nothing said about re-signing with the Force. You can read his statement to mean "...for the rest of this season". You can read into any of this how you like, though, which is what we have had to do in absence of any real news!

If we had a fully-fit team Voloavola probably wouldn't start.

Anyway, he's denied it, so just another media rumour to add to the others...

Interesting report from Panda suggesting Adam Coleman, among others to sign with the Rebels and other clubs: http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/rugby/aru-confirms-western-force-or-melbourne-rebels-will-be-cut-from-super-rugby-as-contract-freeze-lifts/news-story/c29f9b310beb94b5b69759ff32496bf5

True, but he said there were no limits being put on how long a contract could be, so that could be a lot of money for the ARU to honour if / when they cut a team.
