Wallabies 2023 World Cup Positivity Thread

Last nights start and the rain giving a bit of a breather certainly puts them in a position to get an outright victory. It was a comment on their most recent performance, that being the previous 2 days play which were terrible. But yes regardless of the outcome tonight they will be boarding...

    Bledisloe 2 2023 @ Dunedin 12:35PM Sat 5 Aug

That sounds like Slipper and Pone covering THP, Bell & Schoupp covering LHP. Nonggorr & Lambert the back ups

I did get a photo as evidence but I wasn’t sure what the protocol was with putting something like that up. Plus the big Fijian guy who was one of the subjects may not have appreciated it. So I deleted it.

Yep, that. One game per annum.

I am in the R M Williams store in the city as we speak - there is a a bit of the Wallabies stuff left only a few gold and blue jerseys though. I am people watching while the others browse leather goods, the people looking at the RA merch are definitely not the stereotypical types that the...

    Wallabies 2023

I have had similar thoughts. Even as far as thinking we couldn’t be any worse off if we ditch Quade and start putting some minutes into Donaldson. He put the broom through the England squad when he took over after 2015 RWC, that would be pretty analogous to this? Much deeper player pool though.

Wallabies 2023 World Cup Positivity Thread

The Wallabies are probably outperforming compared with the performances by their counterparts in the Ashes and the Women’s soccer World Cup, and keeping a lower profile.

That’s all you need to do. You’ll rollout your 2nd XV with one of those ridiculously strong ‘just in case’ benches to come on and put us out of our misery when we’re all getting excited that we’re in with a chance with 20 to go.

He is chief disruptor, that doesn’t show up in the stats but was pretty noticeable watching. Arnold is the chief tall bloke.

It doesn’t make a lot of sense at face value, but if Eddie has come in and discovered ‘shit, these blokes aren’t fit enough’, there is only one way to really fix that in the short amount of time we have. Cheika found the same thing you might recall. Rennie didn’t seem to have as much concern...

The THP issues may Force Eddies hand here with the need for Slipper to potentially cover both sides. Maybe not for this week but for the RWC squad

I thought Hooper was OK but you would expect the open side flanker playing 80 minutes to top the tackle count. He also fell off a few noticeably, 5 according to the stats. Frost was up there defensively as well, and Leota’s stats based on minutes played were probably the best of the 3...

    Bledisloe 1: 29 July @ MCG

Anyway, on reflection I don’t think it was disastrous. In perspective it was 8th playing 2nd in the world - would anyone be surprised if they woke up to this scoreline if it was ABs v Argentina or Wales? This is where we are at people, I said last week that we need to stop hoping for a miracle...

Do we really need to keep Richie Arnold? What’s he done to deserve a ticket to the France junket? Matt Philip, Caderyn Neville, even Darcy Swain are more deserved.

Schoupp is loose head, HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes) is injured. It will be Pone or Talakai, and Holz or Nonggor after that. I think TT will be fine by the WC if it’s ribs, albeit a bit undercooked, but we do have a few pool games to get his fitness up. Slipper will cover TH as well. Next week could be ugly.

it could just be cartilage too, not a break - equally as painful at the outset and a lot quicker to heal

    Bledisloe 1: 29 July @ MCG

I didnt hear what the commentators said but from watching him and having had the displeasure of playing on with a couple of broken ones myself it looked pretty clear it was the issue. Cant do anything about it except some legal pain relief and accepting your pain threshold - the good news is...

    Bledisloe 1: 29 July @ MCG

See this is the thing with the WC this year. We would be at reasonably short odds to win our pool and then not so short odds to beat (likely) Argentina to advance to a semi. We then just need to have one of those ‘on our day’ performances in the semi and we are in the final, and if that is...
