Could the Kiwi's be losing Dan Carter?

It's a fair question re Carter (the injury, not the choking that's just a very cheap poke), he's been off his game in the last two games, particularly in the tackling department and he cops a back strain. Is it a bit of caution/cotton wool, a nagging injury that just needs rest, or one of those...

England at the Rugby World Cup

Have to disagree with uck, I think Lawes has huge potential, stood out a mile to me. He has screwed up royally with the knee, be lucky to get away with a 2 match suspension, but up with Warburton for me as impressive players. Assuming he learns a hard lesson fast he's a real threat in my view...

Wallabies without O'Connor just aint the same

Barnes is a great player no doubt, but he isn't the direct defender and runner McCabe is and never will be, he's a classy 10/12 playmaker with an excellent rounded game. His defensive game is a long second to McCabe, while he is far slipperier in attack. I'd lay a wager Deans put Larkham up to...

Wallabies without O'Connor just aint the same

To play devils advocate there is a genuine argument that 2 defensive centres who run straight lines offer us more attack (in our team) because it forces the opposition to maintain a straight defense, creating angled space for Ioane/Beale/JOC (James O'Connor). Ant had a flat game in a low tackle count game, but...

Digby Ioane with suspected broken hand

O'Connor taking over Digby at 10, Mitchell getting a run is a pretty sweet prospect. Doubt Mitchell has gone from brilliant to useless, injury notwithstanding. The guy had a genuine claim as best winger in rugby. Hurts to lose Digby at world best but could prove fantastic if Mitchell gets a...

South Africa v Wales match thread

Gutted Wales lost but SAffas were a diff team once subs came on. We've all been saying it, but it was painful to see the difference between Smit and BDP. If BDP doesn't start every game from here we know Smit and PDivvy have some kind of religious unholy pact. Bright side for Wales -...

    RWC - Wallabies v Italy - 11th September 2011

I was pretty happy with the first half of the game. We ground the game along in poor conditions with a slippery ball and got Italy contained, started to show signs of good dominance in the last ten. Couple of breaks that didn't quite go our way. Nice platform for second half despite the low...

Live Chat for Tonga vs All Blecks

Re the scrums, thought ABs improved once Woodcock came off. Usual nfcbloodyscrums caveat tho. Overall they did enough, had we achieved that scrum level vs Tonga playing like that I 'd have been pleased really. I reckon Tonga would have beaten England soundly on form this weekend.

Live Chat for Tonga vs All Blecks

Thought Tonga played exceptionally. Like Samoa the professionalism and match fitness was a lot better than PI teams of old. Hell, all the lower ranked teams have been playing much much better rugby. The ABs, however, were definitely not playing with their usual authority. Maybe it was SBW, he...

I agree Bullrush. Staggering how good he has been recently.

    stir it up~

Aussies aren't bad winners at all. That would be called losing, which I grant you we suck at.

Rugby World Cup is a Joke!!

I'm hoping tomorrows rugby is half as boring as today's was :). Minds still buzzing with the huge efforts put in by Romania, Namibia, Japan and Argentina. Bet the kiwis are saying wtf were we thinking re Aldridge. He played with staggering composure today.

England vs Argentina - Live chat.

I'd generally agree Gnostic but The Poms were guilty of a criminal amount of lateral play. At least we woke up at half time in Bled1, with about 25 of it being rubbish, Poms were still tossing the game away at 66mins. And two pretty bloody low incidents to reaffirm their reps. Having said...

The Springboks at the Rugby World Cup

Blue - I hear you but spectator wise it's as Sam Ikin says. For world rugby that's the thing that will see the game prosper. Needs a balance tho, not try fests, no penalty fests! MR - by that analogy Super Rugby >> test rugby. Not happening, RWC takes the players to a new level, just as...

The Springboks at the Rugby World Cup

I don't know Blue, I wouldn't call it fun bashing Bok rugby. You win too much! Besides, given time the Bok are as capable as any of playing running rugby if that's what they want to do - and that is just with current player resources. The RWC is another level up from test rugby, and it's...

When the choke gets beyond a joke

yup harsh, but come the game I genuinely felt we clammed up and shouldn't have. That's a choke for me. 07 same. Maybe I just hate losing to the Poms in any sport. Who doesn't?!
