    David Pococks Eating Troubles

I once heard on the sideline at a schoolboy game that he's never eaten fast food. Like never ever.

    Maxime Mermoz

Hold on. Wasnt hynes named in the reds original 30? If it is looking like he wont play any rugby in 2012 the reds could possibly cut him from the squad (move him into a coaching role maybe) and bring in mermoz.

Yeah nothing wrong with that tackle. Are you saving the good bait for later slim?

    2011 Spring Tour

Centres are boring. Lets talk about the backrow. With higgers and dennis in the mix is their any chance we will see a revival of the backrow move. Super effective when used well.

    Brumbies 2012

I think it was 5 passes. I think at the moment he is too one dimensional to crack it at the highest level. But he is still young and maybe he will develop his game and prove us all (sans slim) wrong. I like his attitude though, very tough of him to play with a bung shoulder.

    Qld Premier Rugby 2012

How does it work with the coast teams? Do they pick a 30 man squad and then just call guys up when there are injuries.

    Qld Premier Rugby 2012

Think tupou might be with the 7's. East looking like early favourites for next year. Bit of talent in the colts team as well.

    Brumbies 2012

Slightly off topic but there was a bit in the paper the other day suggesting lane could be in line for a wallabies job (probably as an assistant), in the coming months.

Australian Schoolboys and National Championships 2011

I tend to agree, why spend money developing a kid if he already lost to league. But then again, the question we should be asking is why he was lost to league in the first place.

    New name for Tri-Nations competition

The league 4 nations ceases to exist next year anyway. 4 Nations would have been my pick. Or southern nations cup. I hope the logo is better than the piece of shit superugby one.

    National Academy 2012

Im not at all anti-club rugby, but I just think that if you condense (5 competitions x 10-12 teams) worth of talent into 5 teams, based around a professional structure, with a clear pathway to higher honours than you are going to get a better outcome.

    National Academy 2012

Does the ARU have a time frame for establishing academy's in ACT, VIC and WA? Would have to be 5-10 years away at best the way money is. With the kiwis also starting to feel the effects of poaching by toyota cup teams, if I was the running things I'd be trying to get a trans-tasman U21 comp...

    2011 Spring Tour

At the end of the day you'd put your house, car and firstborn on pocock to help you win a test match. Both these guys are fighting it out for the second spot and after the season beau had in my opinion he should be rewarded. Hodgeson isnt getting any younger, and I know we have now ditched...

    2011 Spring Tour

Cause beau got more than one performance to dictate his ability?

    2011 Spring Tour

When is deans new coaching team announced? This tour could have been an opportunity to trial some of the contenders for forwards coach as well as scrum and kicking/highball consultants. On the topic of the squad, this is the one I suggested earlier: With the news that deans is tipped...

    National Academy 2012

Is their a limit on how many players each club can nominate? Maybe if they enforced such a limit (not so much for final academy positions but at least for trail positions) than it would lead to a more even spread of talent across the clubs as up and coming players would know that if they go to...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2011

That's interesting, I hope it doesn't stop the breakers and the rays from nominating players for the academy out of fear of losing them to other clubs if they get through. Seems strange to penalise clubs for developing talent. But I guess they dont really have other options.

    New Zealand Super Squads

That's true BDA, but people use to say the same things about the reds pack, some still do. Only thing that I would be worried about as a chiefs supporter is the lack of established top class locks. One or two of them will need to really step it up if the chiefs are to go all the way, as a good...

    New Zealand Super Squads

It all depends on what style the highlanders play and also the way in which the laws around the breakdown are enforced. What we have seen time and time again this season is that if teams dont play an on-ball 7 they have a hard time getting on top at the breakdown. But this could change with...

    National Academy 2012

ARU have posted up the new 7's squad, so they are all in the academy. I hear some clubs are starting to publicly announce which of their players have made it so I expect something official will come out in the next few days.
