include pacific islander's into the tri nation .

i think he's referring to japan. as in four nations plus the pacific nations. i'd like to see either regular tours by the pacific islanders combined team a la the lions or finally some proper inclusion by the australian and NZ teams of the islander players.

    Wallabies Ratings Post Samoa 2011

Agreed! I do think Giteau cops too much flak. he's not that bad! in fact he's still bloody good! and as noted above, he's not the starting 10. he's got better defence than the other reserve 10 options that is for sure. timmy horan looks to be right with his call that genia is pretty...

    Wallabies Ratings Post Samoa 2011

after this game i'm really wondering what the point in blooding timani was? Tonga could use him a lot more than the wallabies.

    Wallabies V Samoa - Test 2011

many more useful ones that aside? i'll admit i only turned around the 23 minute mark so i would have missed the pass you mention. but i didn't see many from him from 23 mins onward. that being said, he was reliable to at least take the ball to contact and catch the ball. better than most!

include pacific islander's into the tri nation .

the PI team was an ad hoc team put together with relatiavely short notice and time together though. I think fiji, tonga and samoa have improved considerably since 2004. virtually all their players are now playing professionally. it would be nice to see the PI team perform like the lions. maybe...

    Wallabies V Samoa - Test 2011

I don't recall it! just running straight at the defence and not breaking the gain line....at least he ran straight though! I thought phipps looked very panicked at moments. obviously does not have the experience yet for test rugby. Genia made a world of difference when he came on. but what...

Channel 9 continues the tradition of absymal free to air rugby coverage...

Agreed. it's only delaying the NRL game by 30 minutes. they can't show the wallabes match on delay as it is way too late. the only options are rescheduling the NRL game or playing both on different channels. not sure why the article reckons it's embarrassing to be put on one of 9's digital...

Channel 9 continues the tradition of absymal free to air rugby coverage...

that particular game is on at 8:30pm NZ time.....6:30pm East Coast Aus. Surely the NRL with its flexibility in scheduling games just reschedules and avoids the conlifct so it can maximise its viewers? In the event of that restriction on showing two games on different channels existing, that...

Channel 9 continues the tradition of absymal free to air rugby coverage...

If that's the case maybe they can sell the rights to that one NRL game or the wallabies game to another channel? or seek a release from that condition. let's face it, for a league semi final if you like league you're going to watch that. if you like rugby you'll be watching the wallabies...

Channel 9 continues the tradition of absymal free to air rugby coverage...

would be a great result and both programs will rate higher than The Block. does this mean there will be a conflict the next week with NRL finals and the other tests? i personally would much rather watch England v Georgia or New Zealand v France than a game of league.

    World Cup Squads

Chauncey is looking in great great form. man of the tournament this year for the Churchill Cup. wonder if he might be bit small for the flanks tho? Conor is good. young player, the world cup will be great development for him. maybe it's sonny bill williams bad influence!

Channel 9 continues the tradition of absymal free to air rugby coverage...

show one game on 9 and the other on Go or GEM. easy enough answer surely.

Channel 9 continues the tradition of absymal free to air rugby coverage...

There is a ridiculous amount of posts on the site. Hopefully they change their minds. If they do this for the springboks game i'll spit the dummy. they have 3 channels, all with terrible television shows. they can afford to put some entertainment on for a couple of hours.

    Wallabies V Samoa - Test 2011

I agree. I think Gerrard performed very strongly all year in a backline that struggled. He controlled the games when at full back and the difference between a rebels backline with him and without him varied from very noticeable to a night and day difference. His big boot, excellent tactical...

    Wallabies V Samoa - Test 2011

Burgess has a broken hand. he broke it what, three weeks ago? He won't be playing. It'll be phipps and genia covering 9.

Will Super Rugby continue to expand?

sorry shouldn't have said 'next broadcast rights' it's a ways down the track. but the positive thing about having this discussion is that we are discussing it for a reason. the game is thankfully growing in Canada, the States and Japan. The Canadian Rugby Championship and the America's Rugby...

Will Super Rugby continue to expand?

perhaps a pipe dream. but more likely just a long time away. As Timmy Horan noted the other day, rugby is growing faster in the U.S and Canada than anywhere else in the world. U.S. In the U.S they will have 100,000 registered players by the end of this year and recent trends show it is growing...

Will Super Rugby continue to expand?

Large city with access to the U.S and Canadian west coast markets. Obviously close access to Tonga, Fiji and Samoa. Obviously cultural similarities. I think argentina is too far for super rugby. it would then fully traverse the globe. Honolulu already has a 50 000 person rectangular...

Will Super Rugby continue to expand?

Both NZRU and ARU have said in the past they want expansion to either Japan, Argentina or North America. A Tokyo team? Hong Kong? Honolulu (1m+ people strong islander roots) not too far from Sydney/Auckland. no professional sports teams. could play islanders, and north americans on this team as...

    World Cup Jerseys 2011

will be one of the worst ones at the cup for sure. the rugby ball emblem in the jersey is horrid too. tough to go past the quarters looking like that.
