'Future of Rugby' Announcement in Sydney today

bit of a hyperbole isn't it? That will be great if they are getting tests back to the SFS though. so next year australia will have three home tri nations games and probably four inbound tests? Tri nations - NZ in Sydney, SA in Brisbane, Argentina in Gold Coast (this one should be in...

Potential upsets at this years WC - year of the minnow?

just going to have to call them by number i think.

    Brisbane Tests

I really enjoy AAMI Park. Throughout the game the back walk way is opened outside. You can walk straight from your seats outside. No need for a pass out or anything as it is all blocked off from the public. at half time you can take your drinks outside and chat until the 2nd half begins. It's...

    2011 World XV

I'd have Shane Williams over Ioane. Williams can do so much more with so much less. Ioane needs space. Williams can score from a standstill encircled by the opposition. When at full form, this year and nearly every other year BOD is a brilliant 13. but if the world XV is only on test players...

SBW set to walk out on NZRU

was the before or after he tried to choke his coach to death?

Potential upsets at this years WC - year of the minnow?

Georgia will cause some pain. The backs are never much but some of their forwards are amazing. I think they could be a chance against Argentina as well who are not looking nearly as good as they did 4 years ago. That won't be an easy group. Ireland with all those injuries mounting might face...

Queensland XV v Canada - August 30 at Ballymore

DTH Van De Merwe very good player. plays for glasgow in the magners. was third or fourth in the league in try scoring. I would say he is the best back we've had since Morgan Williams and best inside back we've had in quite some time. He usually plays wing for glasgow actually. Agree on him...

SBW set to walk out on NZRU

skippy - kevin mealamu owning nandos franchises is worlds apart from SBW being sponsored by let's say Nike and promoting Nike on a regular basis despite the all blacks being sponsored by adidas. I'm not sure, but do the all blacks have a fast food sponsor? Mcdonald's or anything? if not, then...

SBW set to walk out on NZRU

Agree. The NZRU and ARU need these major corporate sponsors to pay all the bills and wages. Gate attendance and tv rights deals don't cover all of the costs. The minute SBW gets sponsored by a competing corporation, the NZRU sponsor can look at that and say "well if i give the all blacks $100m...

Queensland XV v Canada - August 30 at Ballymore

I'm guessing there's no way this is going to be televised down in melbourne........... anyone going keen to give a synopsis of it all?

    Brisbane Tests

I would love to catch a game at brisbane. It looked amazing saturday night. Great looking stadium. i've been to an ANZ game and comparing the views and the atmosphere there with what we get at AAMI park down here in melbs....ouch! they'd be better off playing the games in sydney at the SCG...

    Tri Nations Game 6 - Wallabies vs All Blacks - Saturday 27 August 2011 - 3N2011

well they were pretty horrid in the first half, but the second half they were unreal.

Why im loving rugby union again

I would say a bandwagon fan is one who is already a fan of rugby, but doesnt really have a team they go for until one team starts playing well, then they back them. usually under the guise of "i barrack for whoever is playing good rugby (i.e winning)" a fair weather fan is an already existing...

Why im loving rugby union again

I think that is valid for queensland. There it will be a mix of new fans being exposed to the game for the first time and of course fair weather folk. But look at the crowd numbers in NSW and ACT. We might be mixing up bandwagon and fair weather here, though I don't think there is a difference...

What to do with JOC (James O'Connor)?

It's a tough one. Who do you drop to put him in. My first thought is that JOC (James O'Connor) will make it onto the bench versus Italy. He'll probably take off Horne I would think. I think Barnes will also sneak his way onto the bench and that Deans will rever to a 4-3 split. TPN, Slipper (is he ready to go?)...

SBW set to walk out on NZRU

that would be awesome. I would be barracking for Jonah. @Athilnaur - he is getting some really poor advice and has been for a few years. he's still with them (by them i mean khoder and mundine) so i assume he has no idea. a friend of mine met him at a dinner last year and chatted with him for...

Why im loving rugby union again

really disagree. it's a brilliant battle of mind and body, but it's a battle between gentlemen. As much as Quade's knees to the head is out of place, Danny Care stopping the game when a player is down and out belongs. I think its great when a player drills his opposite man into touch, the...

SBW set to walk out on NZRU

love that he might walk because its not going as well as he thought. so weak. its like his boxing career. he's money against an overweight tongan on welfare, but throw him up against well....nearly anyone who's fought before and he'll get killed. put him up against chris patterson and...
