The growth - not death - of Rugby in Australia

My subbies club has too many players. This is deadset a problem we havent had in many any years - especially colts. Saying that, it could be Gordon's recent woes that have led us to 40 registered colts. We'll see how the ski season treats us.....

ARU Annual Report 2012 & Participation Growth

How can JON love the game of rugby knowing he is ripping $2 fucking million dollars out of the game when some parents, clubs and schools dont have a cent to their name? I'm glad Pulver has millions in the bank coz if he cares he wont be stripping the equivalent of 15 development officers from...

    Shute Shield 2013

sorry - I'm in a grenache induced rage tonight. Even Rabs on Triple M had John Williamson write a song for the mungos. I mean that beautiful song " a number on my back' was written for the wallabies years ago and now we allow the mungo followers to think they are doing something new. fucking...

ARU Annual Report 2012 & Participation Growth

When reading participation numbers - I only look at registered junior, seniors and schools 1. ( sorry ladies). I have heard anecdotally that some well funded girls private schools such as PLC on the North shore of Sydney now offer rugby sevens as a sport. As we have seen, there has been a...

Waratahs vs Chiefs Super Rugby Rd 10, Fri 19 April 2013

I have the Tahs to blame for my stonking hangover on Saturday. It made me realise how good life is when the Tahs have a goon win over (yet) another kiwi team. They will beat the bulls this weekend.

    Shute Shield 2013

I was gladdened to hear on this mornings radio show, 'The Big Sports Breakfast', when Michael Slater and TK advertised the Randwick Easts game at Coogee Oval tomorrow. I have no doubt this will attract a big crowd and hopefully some of the Roosters finge fans. Well done for putting a game on. It...

    Sydney Subbies 2013

yeah I know The coach. Was it the rugby club or the licenced club that had to raid the club's endowment foundation? Has the sale of the licenced club gone through and will the rugby club receive any benefit from this sale? Where will the head quarters of the club be as a result of the sale?

    Sydney Subbies 2013

Will Brame moved to Forest. There has always been rumours about St Pats and Drummoyne in Div 1. Balmain is clearly paying and I hear Ryan Cross was on $30k. In Div 2 there are rumours re Brothers paying players and I know Hornsby were chucking the dosh around. Clubs need to be very careful or...

    Sydney Subbies 2013

Lately dusted bobs in div 2 yesterday. Whilst bobs were relegated from div 1 last year, there has been a lot of off field work in terms of coaching and recruitment. Numbers across the grades are good but for oatley to win 3 from 5 at our home ground suggests the men in green will do well this year.

    Shute Shield 2013

I was wondering where John Grant had been since moving to the mungos for some strange reason. The Gordon story is in the Telegraph today - Grier coaching both first and second grade with Tim Wallace running the backs. thats a lot of work. Would love to know why Briggs left. Can anyone clarify or...

Mate I love the idea. I think the silence from fellow roarers is that this function would be completely unwilling and unable to host something like this.

    Shute Shield 2013

Senior, I'm aware of the great work that mcgilvray and the new board are doing with sponsors, corporate governance and dealing with creditors. I just don't understand why they sack a coach a few days before the season started. I mean they could have done this months ago. The colts situation...
