Let’s also not forget people were slamming Koroibete for a number of years.

September injury, roughly 9 months rehab (give or take). May/June return so hopefully a couple of games. If there is no Aus pro comp post Super Rugby would love to see him play NPC so has at least 10 pro games in the year.

Part of the ACL crew. Did it first half in Melb against ABs. Might get a game of two in at season end but will depend on rehab ACL crew = Kerevi (7s), Quade, Philip, Tupou and Leota. Sure prob missed someone.

On the Wilson argument, I think it just comes down to the fact he’s just not ‘yet’ as good as many have built him up to be although he’s still very young and far from the finished product. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a good player but there isn’t any point of difference that would stand out at the...

Much needed, currently the RWC fixture list will stir up a hornets nest when they aren’t used as a venue for the tournament, as has been widely rumoured.

SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) 2023 General Chat

Found this from the Georgina Robinson article at the time “The concept is actually ‘owned’ by New Zealand Rugby, who’ve licensed it out to events company TEG Sport. TEG in turn negotiated a two-year deal with Visit Victoria to bring it to Melbourne, then paid the New Zealand teams who had to...

SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) 2023 General Chat

This isn’t true. Can’t remember who it was but one of the journalists wrote at the time about the super round. They said NZRU own the Super Rugby IP because they set up the current competition (it’s a contentious thing at RA hence new independent board coming in). They commisioned TEG who sold it to the...

I lean more toward that teams are cohesive because they win, than they win because they are cohesive.

    Reds 2023

Haha agreed. Music here to stay, must say never had any issues talking when it’s on. Sport will go the American model where it’s just as much about the experience than the actual content on the field.

I like DC but so far he’s won an MLR, Japanese second div and the SS. Hardly comps at the higher end of the game and contain amateur facets that don’t directly replicate professionalism. You could argue Brad Thorns NRC was a higher level than both of these. Don’t get me wrong I think he’s a...

    Reds 2023

I haven’t thrown the roll call out to mates for memberships, but I suspect the reduced games will be seen as an opportunity for some of my friends to disengage and move to a casual supporter. Within my friends saving $50-100 bucks wouldn’t be a factor on buying or not, but perhaps for others...

    Reds 2023

The only issue I have is the Super Rugby season is already incredibly short and lacks ability to engage regularly with fans. Reducing it to 5 or 6 home games makes the membership unappealing to some. I personally will get one but can’t see others wanting to commit when there really isn’t much to it in...

    Australian Rugby / RA

I personally don’t think there is any correlation between having an excellent off-field culture and success. Although id like to perceive the teams I support to be anything other than good environments to work for the athletes/staff, I don’t think there is any direct link to the wins and losses...

    Reds 2023

Will buy my Reds membership in the coming weeks, however this squad worries me. No Tupou in my eyes means this front 5 is one of the worst in Super Rugby, perhaps the worst, he’s that big of a loss. Backline potentially great, but fingers crossed JOC (James O'Connor) can stay fit, otherwise will be a long year. Back row...

    Rebels 2023

Think we will see Kemeny, Wilkin and Ioane as the backrow. Philip and Leota was the little bit of class the pack had but gone without a ball passed.

Your 3rd point rings true these days. Some players in the past left super rugby for the family element because they were sick of been away from the family on long tours, the current form of Super Rugby is more appeasing for people with families as you’re only away at most 2 nights a week and more often...

    Wallabies 2023

Rebels have a lack of centres so playing Hodge there might do him some benefit. He appears to not be the option for Rennie at 15. So despite what many say in nailing down a singular position, I actually think he should double down on his versatility and put hand up across the backline for rebels...

    Wallabies 2023

Agreed with Skelton, he was immense in the time he was given this tour. Kellaway another lock in the team. Surprisingly has a lot of versatility as can play centres, wing and fullback. He was very good in the centres when pushed there against Ireland

One benefit Ireland and NZ have is their union appoints the S&C at club level, so it’s essentially the same program all year. Whereas we have issues with the Super Rugby clubs wanting/prioritizing something the national team might not value etc. and vise-versa.
