I did miss that. So maybe that should have been pinged. But far out I hate these ‘hang on and hope’ holding penalties. I think they’ve been trying to crack down on them recently (I hear the odd ref yell out “not on the ball!”) but still too many happen for my liking.

Pet peeve: Powell wasn’t on the ball at all there. Just holding the body for dear life. That should not be rewarded with a penalty for holding the ball.

Yeah forward packs were pretty evenly matched overall. Tupou and AAA over their opposites, hooker pretty comparable (FF (Folau Fainga'a) prob shading it as more consistent in lineout), Brumbies locks, and Reds back row. But no real dominance of one over another - it was such a dogfight.

Look back on the posts beforehand - most thought we’d go down. There’s no ‘dog shots’ - we are allowed to be happy with certain parts of our teams effort. I think you’re feeling a bit combative after a good Brumbies win and are looking for insult where there isn’t any.

Huh? That wasn’t the question. The answer is no btw. That was a tough tight game. Adam’s only point is that based on our team sheet, he and others expected to go down to that Brumbies team by a lot more. But we didn’t - they stood up, and that’s something to be proud of.

That no call against Iona for holding McReight back is a genuine howler.

Valetini has been anonymous other than the niggly stuff. If he actually decides to start playing the Reds could be in trouble.

I’ve got no issue with it and glad it was allowed to play on but the exact same thing got penalised in the earlier game between the Blues and Highlanders.
