Isn't Jack Lam playing for Wellington and Lala Lam playing for randwick.

    Shute Shield 2011

I dont think the Rats are a good choice because their forward pack is mostly made up of players, who are very commited, but unfortunately not of first grade standard. One of their props is another ex St Pauls and Manly player Dave Hart. I've known Dave for years and he is a great guy. He was in...

    Shute Shield 2011

Salesi Manu has decided to leave Manly to go to the Rats. Manly not releasing him apparently as he owes them money. You didn't have to be nostradamus to see this coming. He has been quite disappointed about being in 2nds. I think he should have stuck it out but I can understand why he left...

    Shute Shield 2011

The TMO should be refereeing the Roos vs Lions U/7s this week. I have found most refs both polite and professional. Unfortunately when Q'd a couple of times about their performance some are very quick in informing you about the ARU'S code of Conduct.

    Shute Shield 2011

Can you please explain which part is ill informed. He won the Golden Boot and he played for all the clubs I mentioned. By the highest bidder remark, this does not always have to be in relation to money. As you said he went to Norths for a better opportunity mid season last year.

    rugby boys playing Toyota Cup

Michael Oldfield and Will Hopoate are both playing well. I know of both guys backgrounds and yes it is primarily in league. Hoppa played in a zone chs team that I coached in 2008. If only there was money to get these guys on contract earlier on.

    Shute Shield 2011

Sorry to say this, but young Rodney has played Aust Schools where he was awarded the Golden Boot, this occured whilst playing in a very successful 2 blue colts eam in 2006. Since then he played for Eastwood, Penrith, Gordon and now he is back at the 2blues. He is a very good footballer but one...

I would have preferred Tim Lane. Maybe he will get the NSWRU job.

Waratahs in talks with James Haskell, Mike Phillips and Dwayne Peel

I think you'll find that Moses was taking the piss. I will also add that his kicking was inconsistent at Manly and his play was as well.

    Shute Shield 2011

No, it was abit of jersey pulling as opposed to David Dillon and Leon Bott a couple of years ago at Coogee. Youtube it .

    Shute Shield 2011

Woodies beat Manly with a chargedown at the end to win 27- 17. They also won 2nds but lost 3rds and 4ths. Referee was once again not up to scratch. At one stage late in the game a Manly player was held by a woodies guy after a kick and then immediately afterwards John GRANT WAS MUGGED AS HE LED...

    Shute Shield 2011

If they play like they did last week then Taf is due for a hairy. That said Manly were dreadful. If they continue to play like they have done so far this year then they will not be going anywhere a gf spot. Apart from the 2nd half against Warringah they have been so so at best. I look forward to...

Blues vs Rebels, North Harbour Stadium - 2011R10

The last try came from a forward pass. The knockdown out of Phipps hand earlier was a knockon. The Rebels butchered several try scoring chances. And yes I think in the last couple of games we have learnt why Martin Johnson has not picked Cipriani. His defence and that of several other backs is...

Graham Henry has a spray at Rugby Tourists

Peter Hewat was another very talented player who didn't have the x factor. Just ask that arsehole O' Connor. He left the Shute Shield comp just like Chris Malone, Paul Warwick, Brock James etc. All have been employed since.

Cooper Vuna named in Tonga squad

I was bored on the last day of term and I managed to compile a list of all Tongan, Samoan and Fijian players playing in Japan, Itaky, France, and the UK + Ireland. I think Maka may have been as bored as myself. Sitiveni from Leicester via Fairfield is a dead set cert.

Selection politics and bias, Gold Squads unfairness etc.

I should have added this. There are alot of dodgy selections in schoolboy rugby. Always has and always will. What I should have added was that come time to play colts and then grade the talented will be noticed. In schoolboy football, as I've mentioned in previous threads AICES and CCC dont even...

Selection politics and bias, Gold Squads unfairness etc.

Politics = The parent who dropped their kiddy off to play rugby at the under 6 level and wondered why he wasn't playing flyhalf and also pampered the child till the age of 17. It all works out. If your child is good enough his talent will shine through. Politcs is the most over used term in...
