yep. id probably add Neville to that 2nd row. maybe Skelton at 8

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Basically if the Hodgo played for the Tahs would he scored as many tries? fair questions... maybe. the real question is, would the tahs be a better attacking side with Hodgo? doubt it

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Surprised guys like kafer and Marto are choosing Beale at Fullback. Folau's best asset at Fullback is that he's rock solid under the high ball. Anyone who watched the England/All Blacks series would have seen that England will put up a lot of high balls at the world cup. They will probably be...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Pocock is actually a decent ball carrier. The Wallabies use to use him often in the Deans era to crash it up off first phase ball. He had very safe hands and strong leg drive. Very rarely would he make a break or hit a gap but to say he is not a ball carrier is not quite true. Certainly enough...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

    Currently I'd be leaning to the following:- 1. Slipper 2. Moore 3. Kepu 4. Horwill 5. Simo 6. Higgers 7. Hooper 8. Palu 9. Genia 10. Cooper 11. JOC (James O'Connor) 12. To'omua 13. Kuridrani 14. Speight 15. Folau 16. Sio 17. TPN 18. Alexander 19. Fardy 20. Pocock 21. Phipps 22. Beale 23. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) Next in line if...

Springboks vs Wallabies @ Newlands 27/9/2014

Link is bang on that Skelton will benefit a lot more from playing a bunch of 80 minute games in the NRC over the next few weeks than he will sitting on the bench/stands on tour. I suspect Link plans on using him on the EOYT and probably wants Skelton to get a much game time as possible before then.

Springboks vs Wallabies @ Newlands 27/9/2014

Did Link say anything that we don't already know?! Skelton is still Green, he needs to improve his set-piece and conditioning to be a regular selection at test level. This is a guy who only played a handful of games for the Tahs last year, and some were talking about him as a possible inclusion...

    John Eales Medal 2014

Yeah Foley had the best debut year easily. i guess technically played a game off the bench last season, still he's the logical choice.

RIP Test Rugby on the Gold Coast

I think the biggest reasons for the GC crowd being so small were:- 1. Lack of any promotion; 2. Weather 3. Bledisloe game 2 4. Cowboys v Broncos game (in that order) Gold Coast's are notoriously fickle in terms of live sporting events. The weather probably cost them about 2,000 fans. Also the...

Australia Vs Argentina, September 13, Gold Coast

I think you have to appreciate where this team is in its development to fairly critique the results. Most teams under a new coach take a few years to build a team and a style of play. Deans had five years to build for the Lions Series, and the wallabies were pretty poor during that series...

Australia Vs Argentina, September 13, Gold Coast

The pluses for me were the scrum and the halves. That starting front row of Slipper/TPN/Kepu is a strong unit, probably our best combination in terms of the scrum. they put a lot of pressure on the argies and arguably did better against them than the All Blacks or the Boks. Fingers crossed TPN...

i was also at the game. re the last scrum the wallabies orginally had the put in and the pumas drove forward before the ball went in. should have been a free kick to the wallabies on the initial scrum.

    S18 on its way

Given that a Japanese team looks likely to be the 18th side, I wonder if we might see a slight change to the make up of proposed conferences. If I were SANZAR, I'd consider moving the Western Force to the South African Conference and bringing the Japanese team into the OZ/NZ conference. It would...

    Reds 2015

Pretty surprised that there are some people moaning about this signing. It's true that TT could be anything from a star to a dud, but instincts and intelligence says he's more likely to be the former than the latter. It is unprecedented for there to be so much interest in a school boy player...

Ash Makes some good point. I would have thought Link would be better off naming Skelton as the sixth forward, in place of Hodgson.

All Blacks vs Springbokke @ Wellington

I doubt the weather makes that much of a difference. For the Boks, i just think if they are going to play the simple 2007 game plan (which they are traditionally great at) they have to do it better than they currently are. The game plan requires them to dominate the physicality and more...

Australia Vs Argentina, September 13, Gold Coast

skelton's omission isn't that shocking. It reckon it has less to do with his game more to do with what the alternatives offer. Link seems to see Skelton as a bench option at this stage of his development, rather than a starting player. I agree. His workrate needs work and Link appears to be...

Would have liked to have seen Skelton get a run. I probably would have chosen Tomane over Betham too.

    Reds 2015

Yep. The way Cheks neglects the scrum, going to tahs could be bad for his development. Also He's unlikely to see much game time with Kepu and Ryan both ahead of him at TH.

The one thing im really liking about the wallabies as we lead in to the world cup is the potential bench we can put together. the bench is often a good measure of a team. In years past you'd look at the wallabies bench and see a real dip in quality. But at the moment our bench is a real weapon...
