    Your favourite Wallaby XV

Saw the very end of Catchpole, Hipwell probably the best 9 I really saw much of, but Steve Merrick was such a great story, and played so well for those three tests, had to go for him!

    Round 6: Waratahs v Crusaders - Saturday 23 March @ SCG

Well, if the Tahs perform the same as last Friday the Saders will put 100 on them. I thought they were absolutely pedestrian, offering no real threat anywhere, and most significantly, it was some of their older, more experienced big name players who are just not performing. The only way they...

    Round 5 - Brumbies vs Waratahs - Friday 15 March @ 7:45pm in Canberra

I've asked before, what has happened to Roets? Is he fit and just not up to Super standard. He doesn't seem like much of a buy if, with Staniforth unavailable, McCauley is selected in front of him. Makes him our 5th choice lock at best!

When you've made 25% more tackles than anyone else, it's a tough gig to be put in the 'worst tacklers' category. And how can a prop only make 4 tackles in two games? I guess it demonstrates one stat on its' own is pretty meaningless.

Round 4 - Festival of Hate - Qld v NSW

What's happened to Roets? Is he injured, or is he another dud?

Agree re Beale from the bench, fresh legs and creative spark, pick out a couple of tired forwards and that can turn a game in the last 20.

Or we could be unearthing the next great Wallaby 2!!! Glass half full Reg :)

I guess now that he's back in Super rugby the whole Quade debate re-opens, so here goes. As good as he is, his defence, in particular his penchant to go high all the time, rules him out for me. It was his biggest weakness two years ago, and he has shown in his first match back in Super rugby...

    Round 2 - Sunwolves vs Waratahs @ 3.15pm AEDST

Would like to see Mason get a fair bit of game time here (I would have started him). This is his third year with the squad, he's either good enough or he should be let go. If Foley were to get injured, we need him to be able to step up.

    Refereeing decisions

Interesting scenario on the penalty against Jordie Barrett for his challenge of Folau in the air. When Barrett got into the air he realised he wasn't as high as Folau and turned his head and body away, thus colliding with Folau with his shoulder. No harm done, but a perfectly legitimate penalty...

    Round 1 - Waratahs vs Hurricanes @ Brookvale - Saturday 16 February 2019

Plenty to be unhappy about, but first game, lost by 1 point to a genuine Super rugby heavyweight and could just as easily have won. A lot of so-called fans on here will only ever be happy if we beat everybody. Defence was very much improved, and against a very powerful centre pairing, and I...

    Round 1 - Waratahs vs Hurricanes @ Brookvale - Saturday 16 February 2019

Roets has a concussion issue, surprised Beale wasn't at least on the bench, I haven't heard he's carrying an injury. I'm guessing, as Silverado said, Hanigan is the cover for lock, with Swinton to come on at 6. I like the side, sure the reserve props are very inexperienced, but I guess with both...

Super Rugby 2019 Predictions - Aussie Conference

But BR, will the Tahs have 10 Wallabies? The fact that someone has, at some point, been a Wallaby doesn't mean they will be selected this year. I would suggest Hooper, Kepu, Foley, Beale & Folau are the only certainties.

Scoey, don't necessarily agree with your rankings, but a big thumbs up as the only person to be honest about their rational behind their decisions :)

    Round 1 - Waratahs vs Hurricanes @ Brookvale - Saturday 16 February 2019

Phipps unavailable, so Gordon will start with Short on the bench. Staniforth also injured, so possibly Roets on the bench. I think the rest will be right BH, although personally I would have Hunt starting at 12, Beale at 15 and Folau on the wing with Newsome to the bench.

Cheika's coaching and Muslider's English seem to be operating at similar levels. ;)

    Waratahs 2019

Michael, I think HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes) will start at loose head (until Tom Robbo returns) with Kepu at tight head and Vui on the bench. Lock depends on how Roets shapes up. He could join Simmonds there, but if he doesn't step up I see it as a three way battle between Staniforth, Hanigan & Holloway. If Roets...
