Wallabies v All Blacks, Saturday 19th August, ANZ Stadium Sydney

The 9 is more usual in that position I would have thought. There seemed to be a shit load of people being hidden away for some reason.

OK, I've watched some of the stuff from FoxSports where they isolate Kerevi and his not getting in the line in defence, but in those videos he is repeatedly having to travel 20 and 30 metres laterally before getting into position. I have to ask this: why the fuck are we asking a guy to run...

Im not certain that Wayne Barnes' spacial acuity is his greatest strength. Having watched a number of his matches now, the subjects of forward passes and crooked throw ins feature heavily in his "wtf" decisions. But I like his ref'ing mostly and he clearly manages to produce good games.

Beale vs All Blacks several years ago. Worst performance by any wallaby. Ever. Laughed it up afterwards as if it were no biggie. Using your logic, he should never have got a jersey ever again, yet here we are and he's still playing (and I'm going to guess you don't have an issue with him...

Well, i wouldn't say it's over, but he's got an awful lot to improve before he gets another run. If we were to apply specific deficiencies as reasons to never play guys again, then I'm afraid there would not be a single Australian rugby player left to select at the moment.

I'm guessing they're just at the game and not looking at the forums, to be fair.

I think we have been quite fortunate with some of the decisions tonight. And it still wasn't enough.

    I feel for Foley there.

Did Wayne Barnes just say that pass was ok?????

The all blacks have slackened off. The wallabies look fine in attack (as I said earlier), but the defence is still non-existent since the allblacks are gifting us the ball.

And those people who keep posting justifications for the stupid rearrangements in defence don't know rugby. Or sports. Or anything. Dont hide people in defence. Keep it friggen simple FFS.

We look ok with the ball, but defensively it's a shambles. The inability of us to slow the nz ball down is one big part, but the turnstiles we have in the backline are being badly exposed. Nz are slowing our ball down at critical times. The rubbish written here and elsewhere about "no one...

I'm not convinced in KB (Kurtley Beale) at 12. Having said that, I haven't seen how he has been playing overseas, so it might go alright if he's been playing well in that position for a season. David Lord mistakenly submitted his penthouse forum letter about the Kurtley/SBW clash to TheRoar yesterday :( ...

Really? His last tenure as captain of the wallabies was poor, as indicated by their results during his tenure as well as the utter petulant behaviour he displayed during McKenzie's departing conference. His tenure as captain of the Waratahs has been poor as indicated by their results and lack...

I'd be surprised if Hooper ends up being a good captain for the wallabies. However David Lord and Spiro have both written articles.critical of his appointment and they are almost always wrong, so perhaps that augers well.........

^^^^^ Good going, that man. Took it upon himself to look at his own game and do something about it. Kudos.

    Reds 2018

If the ARU are not allowing Magnay to play for the Reds because he has a stint overseas, but then let him sign on for the Tahs after playing overseas then I may end up quite upset.

A good opportunity for Magnay. I hope he makes the most of it.
