Yeah, his contract was coming to an end with NZRU right after RWC2019, and he'd had the coaching gig lined up then. He's been coaching them since their inception from memory.

    Refereeing decisions

Pretty sure the U20s is using the same protocol as SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) so it would have been upgraded within the 10 minutes. That's what happened right, I was watching it and the referee gave a YC and did the arms crossed thing, then at the next lineout he delivered a RC. If it was a straight RC then it's a...

That will never catch on, it's too crazy.

Everyone in community rugby is. It's a global law trial.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

There is a massive rugby community out west, I think they would also come to games. Sure the SE fans will have a hard time getting out there, but it's only a 28 minute train ride from Southern Cross. Sure it adds in the pressure of getting to the city to get on the v-line, but it's an option at...

    Lions Tour 2025

Once in a 12 year match as well, makes sense for the ticketing prices.

You know that referees already do this right? It's just now the tackle height has changed from shoulder to bottom of the sternum.

Strong side named, definitely don't seem to be taking the fixture too lightly. Will be interesting to see who the Force name.

So we'd rather just have players getting head knocks at the bottom of rucks that are missed that could lead to concussions? As much as it disrupts the flow a bit, I'd rather see rugby take head injuries seriously unlike other collision sports.

They haven't been around for a few years, a new league club started up down that way and most of the players jumped to that or retired.

    Super Rugby General Chat

It's one of the things that makes going to watch live rugby painful for a family. I have a couple of kids who love rugby, but are only 6 and 4, going to a night game where they will be tired and hungry due to it kicking off past their bedtime and then forking out at least $200 for it isn't my...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

One of the interesting parts of this was that the S+C teams wanted the Rebels players to have more involvement and have a high work rate, but unfortunately Dewar Shield doesn't provide the chance for that to happen. I was chatting to Pat Leafa after a game one day and he said he wasn't looking...

It's a good hill to die on. However a few years ago the gourmet sausages out at Romanis weren't bad and gave the burger a run for it's money, but the burger is still top IMO.

Field 1 at EH is a lot better than it used to be, but I haven't checked it out post downpour over the last week, that is always when it struggled.

He was so obsessive about it, reading his book a few years ago really shows how driven he was to get the most out of his talent. I guess it's a fine line between being 'driven' and 'obsessive' at that level.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Was close for the first 20 minutes, Axemen really up for it, but once the Rebels started winning the race at the breakdown they ran away with it. New winger (Lancaster I think) was knocked out by a collision at around the 20 minute mark, other than that no injuries that stood out.

RWC23- Pool D - Eng, Jap, Arg, Sam, Chile

Not sure, he did good things when he first took over at the Wallabies and Argies, but seems to definitely have a shelf life.

RWC23- Pool D - Eng, Jap, Arg, Sam, Chile

The Arg v Eng game was a lot more entertaining with a dog in the fight. Sure it wasn't pretty but it won the game, however I wasn't fully convinced that we would win until about the 75th minute as the last 10-15 was always going to be hard with the fatigue factor. What I didn't take into account...

Still fast. Watched him chase down a player a few weeks ago who had a 15m head start, Digby had to also cover ground from an angle so had further to run.
