    Wallabies 2023

My wording wasn’t perfect, sorry, I did mean not make a rep team. I didn’t remember the getting injured part to be honest. But would he be an AB or even a Crusader if he wasn’t injured? Or would he be playing NPC over there? I don’t know. I was more using him as an example of how Razor (like...

Understood he’s a different man than he was when he left. Like you say 2017 is ages ago. I’m more of the opinion that the coach of a dominant domestic team who has been a powerhouse in Super Rugby forever is different than coaching the Wallabies.

Agreed. The Crusaders didn’t want Charlie Gamble at some stage, and we are desperate to get him into the fold here. The Crusaders have an assembly line of talent. It’s a bit different here. I’m not sure he’d work either.

Let’s hope the Tahs have some wealthy supporters

It seems hard to be an assistant coach. All the talk is of who will replace Rennie as opposed to which assistant is next in line. Most assistants are doing it to get a head coaching gig somewhere, pure and simple. I understand it’s a high profile gig and the ARU has to make a big announcement in...

Best NSW side in NRC? Fair call. His club record has been good though.

Uhhhh, what happened to the the Force?

I support the Tahs and the Roosters. I was raised in the east. Go to both teams games when I can. You get some fans on both sides not liking the opposite code. I’d think fewer panthers/knights/eels fans would support the Tahs to the same extent as the Roosters, but that’s a generalization.

    I’d buy that.

Agreed. He was a young bloke with all the skills to be our fullback; speed, good read of the game, big boot and good ball skills. A bit like Kellaway where he makes everything look easier than it is. He would’ve thrived if he had been on the wing in Super Rugby with an established fullback to guide him...

I’d like something like this in jersey form as an away jersey. There’s also a hoodie with the same colour scheme with the stripes on the shoulder on the promotional posts which could work too, but can’t find it.

    Waratahs 2023

Looking at the away strip, I’d never purchase it, but I’m too much of a slob for white anyways. But I don’t mind it as a uniform. Like others I think an indigenous/Pacifica element might make it better. Also, other than for marketing/merchandising, do we need an away strip? Does anyone else...

I think Rennies work ons could be construed as gaslighting. Wilson and Lolesio were given work ons and were back up (for the most part) for the test squad. While Gleeson and Donaldson got to play rugby in the Aus A team. Rennie then picks the blokes who got to play. To me a wider issue with a...

You’re right, with all our 6 and 8s, a specialist 7 on the bench would be wasteful. The best options, to me anyways, would be either a Gooper type set up, rest Hooper all together or use Gamble as a Samu type sub/starter if Hooper starts or is off the bench.

Whether or not he’s the 7s future king or not, I think his time with them has helped his 15s game. He was forced to make more decisions on both sides of the ball.

Agree. I think Gibsons lack of forward thinking put him there. Unfortunately there wasn’t anyone else to play THP when he was put on the that side. Last season he got used to his extra size for his scrummaging and got back to his usual game; few errors, mobility and a high work rate.

And possibly 4. If eligibility rules are relaxed, the money on offer wouldn’t be as good. Someone like Kerevi got big bucks as he hadn’t played 70 tests, so at the time wasn’t eligible. I also think the couple of clubs going bust in England might spook some players

I did notice Donaldson shift from first receiver on a few occasions to have others take the ball first up. Wonder if it’s a tactic to get the 5/8 front foot ball a bit wider against a shifting defensive line? DR might see older campaigners using their experience to exploit this situation. I...

Reckon he plays “too big” for his size. He’s fearless but he’s not one of the biggest guys.
