    Proposed Nations Championship

Reciprocal tours of Argentina? The answer is probably that they wouldn't generate anywhere near the same revenue, broadcast or ticketing. It's the least watched and attended game of the RC for Australia and there's not a strong history there to drive it.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Just checked the replay - at about 13:00 on the broadcast Foote is asked about the late change with Daugunu out and says: Doesn't sound like he was joking, sounds a bit pissed off but it's hard to tell with the South African accent and it could also be because it's not a change you want to...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

There was an odd statement pre-match when they were talking about him not playing that "he had chosen not to play" or something along those lines. Commentary didn't interrogate it and it could have just been an odd turn of phrase for an unlucky injury or being dropped for missing a team meeting...

    Proposed Nations Championship

In so much as it generates revenue for RA it does. If New Zealand makes a decision that harms that then a reduced player spend and top flight players departing super rugby is a near certain consequence of that. Whether or not that matters to New Zealand is a separate question - they've never...

    Lions Tour 2025

Classic RA making this process as obtuse and annoying as possible, but I've got my tickets sorted. Might be hunger games in the membership group if one of the others can't get through though - it's a 4 ticket max purchase for the Wallabies Lions test and there's 5 of us (plus a few interested...

    Proposed Nations Championship

The problem isn't the tours, it's that they're torching the global calendar and blocking Japan and Fiji's advancement to do them.

    Wallabies 2024

They've got a week off after the Brumbies game so I'm not sure they'll need to rest/rotate for the Highlanders. That said the Moana game the week before is probably the ideal one if they want to. I do think that Harry McLaughlin-Phillips will be off with the 20s pretty soon though (under 20s...

Round 4 : Rebels v Reds. Friday Night (Melbourne)

It'd help to have a specialist pilferer, but it looks like a pretty clear strategy to just not contest most of the opposition rucks this year and that's what bit them. You don't have to be stealing it heaps but you've got to be pretty bloody confident in your defence if your not even going to...

Round 4 : Rebels v Reds. Friday Night (Melbourne)

That interview doesn't paint Foote in the best light: Anyone could see this was coming (I even pointed it out beforehand), has to be troubling that Foote either didn't or couldn't prepare this pack to handle it better.

Round 4: Western Force v Moana Pasifika 15/03/2024

Mostly because I think Donaldson is a better 15 than Burey and Burey still looked good at 10 last year. I do agree it's a gamble moving Donaldson out of 10 when he's doing well though. As far as the teams issues go, they are both backs and forwards. Yes the forwards are not getting the job...

    Proposed Nations Championship

That's what they're still working through I think, but it looks like they'll be angling for a similar schedule to World cup years - only playing home or away for that Rugby Championship. The only small positive I can see to that is it would likely mean a single Bledisloe test in Australia those...

    Proposed Nations Championship

And it'd be shitty of them to do it too. Doesn't mean NZ and SA shouldn't be called out, given they're the ones actually doing it.

I bet Japan love this, great way to honour that "cooperation agreement".

Round 4 : Rebels v Reds. Friday Night (Melbourne)

Yeah, came on really strong from the bench and was at the heart of the short lived forward fightback. I probably wouldn't have him as Rebels MVP, that might be Kemeny for mine, but having watched plenty of his club games it was the best I've ever seen him play.

Round 4 : Rebels v Reds. Friday Night (Melbourne)

Seems like a bit of an issue, but the worry there is probably what the passing grade is if Tupou passed the way he's playing. Hard to know how that compares across the states, but I guess that just goes to the point of needing alignment on S&C from the top.

Round 4: Western Force v Moana Pasifika 15/03/2024

I might be tempted to swap them though, I think they might get more out of them that way. Tough call to make though given Donaldson is going well at 10.

    Refereeing decisions

I think it's a great change, the extra crawl/roll in the tackle has always pissed me off as both a fan and a player and it tends to make a mess of the ruck. I hope it's not just a flash in the pan focus for a month or two then back to normal, but the fact it's being looked at in more than one...

    Queensland Reds 2024

It probably goes back longer to the long run of wins before the heart breaking losses. I also want to be clear that for all the sledging I think it's fantastic that they're coming and I'm very appreciative, I hope this is the start of a long tradition.

Super Rugby: Rd 4, 2024. NSW Waratahs v The Auckland Blues

It's a strong list, even with the injuries, and they're leaking points and leaving them on the park through poor execution. General play kicking and ruck work this weekend weren't good enough and generally haven't been great. The players that are there are capable of executing on those skill...

    Waratahs 2024

Probably, though I can't see him being ready yet. I imagine Nathan Grey and Jason Gilmore will both be putting their hands up for it if it becomes available.
