Where are you watching the two final games if you're not at the actual game

The Alex in Leura, with a loyal - and totally disgusted - contingent. Three cheers for the Alex, who played SuperRugby and test rugby all year, in a heavily rugby league area. Goodonya guys.

If we had lost to South Africa ...

So, that's what I meant with this thread. That's about where I thought the Wallabies were at. A disappointing RWC for those who thought we really were #2 in the world, no doubt. We're up there with England (yes) and the Saffers and Wales and Ireland, but we could slip from 2nd to 5th and back...

    RWC 2011 SF1 - Wales v France

As soon as Warburton got the red, I knew exactly how the game would pan out. The French don't believe in putting in any effort beyond getting the win. They were always going to grind it out. If Warburton stayed on, I reckon the French would have scored a couple of tries. They went intot heir...

If we had lost to South Africa ...

I said in advance of the RWC that with the games held at Eden Park, I wanted the Wallabies just to make the final. It would be unreasonable to EXPECT to win, but we needed to win all the games we should, so that we put ourselves in a posiiton to win it. I also want to see the Bled before Deans...

If we had lost to South Africa ...

I reckon Robbie got it right this week by saying that when people are patting your back, you're not as good as they're saying, and when they're kicking you up the arse, you're not as bad as they're saying. I reckon the Wallabies are not in great shape. Not as bad as we would have all thought if...

If we had lost to South Africa ...

Look, I don't want to bring the vibe down. I mean, I'm super-pumped for the next two days, Foxtel is running smoothly, the boys are coming around, the beers are sitting there waiting for a trip to the petrol station to buy some ice ... basically, it's on! But. I can't help thinking what the...

South African referees want to take action against Bryce Lawrence

As I said in the other thread, Watson seems way out of line here. It's not his jurisdiction, yet. Paarl is completely right, though, that RSA refs are the best in the world, and if plain speaking is part of that, then good.

Say It Ain't So!!! McCaw may be GONE...

Christ, this game better come soon, look at the garbage we're arguing about. It all comes from the very frustrating fact of not being able to knock each other senseless.

    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

I find Watson's comment very very surprising. OK, Bryce was crap, and perhaps RSA copped most of the bad stuff. But it's amazing to hear the head of South African refs (and I thought - the next iRB head of refs) lose his cool like this. Is Watson (a) just losing his cool as a South African...

Say It Ain't So!!! McCaw may be GONE...

Just for the record, 1. I don't care about Toddgate 2. I hope McCaw is out. Scarf out.

RWC 2011 SF2: Australia vs. New Zealand

Damn Sally Robbins! Because of her, we only came 4th in the medal tally in 2004. Ahead of Germany. Ahead of Great Britain. Ahead of Japan, France, Italy, South Korea, Cuba, Ukraine, Hungary, Romania, Greece, Norway, Netherlands, Brazil, Sweden, Spain, Canada, Turkey, Poland ... and New Zealand.

    The MR Summary

Well, let's agree on this. Whichever bastard team wins on Sunday, the supporters of the losing team have an obligation to the rugby gods to suck it up, shake hands and congratulate the other team's supporters. Sure, we know Richie / Dave will cheat, sure we know the ref is biased, but let's do...

Top-ranked teams endorse fairer Rugby World Cup

Just on the bowl idea: On the Thursday / Friday before the RWC quarter finals, you play Bowl semi-finals for the 3rd placed teams in each group. On the Thursday / Friday before the RWC semi-finals, you play the Bowl final. Everyone agreed, say aye?

    Has Burger been cited?

I watch Dan V pretty closely aroud the rucks. He's the most effective ruck clearer we've had since John Eales. I reckon Dan is getting it pretty close to right. Bakkies regularly goes way too far in rucks - deliberately injuring prone players. I think Dan plays extremely hard, but always this...

    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

Also - Vickerman absolutely belted him at one point. I'm pretty sure it was him who got rid of Brussow. In fact, Aussie Dan disabled a few Saffers around the park. I don't what's going wrong in the lineout, but you have to start Vickerman just for softening up the opposition.

    Has Burger been cited?

Really? OK, that's surprises me. Then ban him into the stone age.

    Has Burger been cited?

Who cares, he's finished. He's just a dirty son of a bitch and - you would hope - the last in a long line of Bok* players that bite, scratch, squirrel, gouge, etc. It seems that Saffer rugby have moved away from this, and they now have a bunch of decent guys playing for them. * This applies to...

England - Where to without Jonny?

C'mon, be sensible. Everyone hates the English. I've watched rugby all over the world with Scots, Irish, French, Saffers, Kiwis, we're all rooting for whoever's playing England.

England - Where to without Jonny?

Jonny seemed to be a nice guy, but surely the single most over-rated player in rugby history. England rugby will never be number 1 (where they conceivably have a right to be, given their playing numbers and structures) while they persist with a 10 man game. It'll get you so far and no more.

    Congrats Aussies!

Three cheers for the Saffers. Let's hope we can give the Kiwi fans here three cheers after their gracious defeat next week.
