Things that I love about Rugby these days

Depends on what direction I'm facing when pissing off the local jetty.

I think they were expecting her to swim over.

is this true ? Can the Brumbies go under ?

I dont understand why Super 10 doesn't count. What makes it any less credible than super 12, 14 or 15. I hope the ponies don't go under, hopefully they can find a sponsor and the union can turn things around in the next few years.

I dont think Phipps choice was at all political. The ARU had never picked a token rebel before why would they suddenly feel the need to pick one for the world cup. I think deans just didn't rate Robinson and Hodgeson over McCalman.

    Huia Edmonds ?

Would be a good pickup for any team. Shirley he will get a gig in france.

Burgess @ Toulouse and other ex pats ...

How powerful is he! It seems like everytime he goes into contact someone bounces off him, exactly what australia needs in the pack. He has the impact of TPN or Samo except he is involved with nearly every play and is the perfect go forward link man.

I still dont think deans understands australian rugby. How are you supposed to beat (or even just give them a run for their money) the all blacks playing 'all blacks lite'. The Wallabies needed to be a step ahead tactically, playing to their strengths and making the most of what they had. That...

Have they hired the all blacks off-contract australian kicking and high ball coach yet?

machiavelli have you seen Blair Connor play for Bordeaux Begles? He was struggling to get a game for the reds but seems to be doing alright from what I hear. Found this on youtube:

    Brumbies 2012

Is crawford the tall fullback that played for norths in the shute shield last year. I only saw a couple of games but he looks the goods. Will be interesting to see how Tomane, Kuridrani and Sitauti go - all big and powerful runners. I like the look of the White - To'omua - Lilo - McCabe line...

Surely they could do a deal with the AIS. It is one of the better sporting institutions in the world, only a fool would not try and get in on that.

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

I agree mate, if you cant stop it you might as well regulate it. Random audits of the books and ban the school from playing rugby for a season if the rules are breached. I'm sure that way the school will think twice about the "enrolement" value of a rugby premiership.

Things that get up my nose about rugby these days

No rucking has made it a farce at times. Also there is too much spiral passing when a simple floating pass is the better option. As I said above, I dont mind all the spiteful stuff, as long as its not too cheap or dirty. Some of you have obviously never played flanker.

I don't mind a little bit of niggle and spite. To me it illustraits that the players really dislike the opposition and want to win the contest rather than just collect their pay check after the game.

    IRB Sevens 2012

Yeah sounds good, would be great if they could start a little earlier in the year as well so that the aru 7's crew could get a chance to sort out some of the talent floating round and if they are good enough bring them into the thunderbolts squad. That's what happened this year with that young...

    IRB Sevens 2012

The Australian super rugby teams could all field a team in a domestic 7's circuit over the summer. Rest the star players and field a team made up of the fringe squad players as well as some young guys from the academy. Invite the kiwi teams to compete as well. PNG might also be interested.

    Shute Shield 2012

I would have thought they would keep blake for defence, Lane for backs, Nuci for forwards and Deans to watch over it all. They might have some other specialist forwards coach as well. Probably not the ideal team but what can you do....

It was reported in the courier mail about a month or 2 ago, that he was going to get the call up.

Wallabies vs Wales, Sunday Dec 4

He put his body on the line repeatedly for aus rugby to the point where his injuries were so chronic that his best option was to go overseas to ensure he had some sort of decent life after rugby. He might still be back yet.
