    QLD GPS Rugby 2012

Yes, the BGS Colloseum was by far the best venue to play on and spectate in Brisbane schoolboy rugby. BGS have lost so much by going out to Northgate. BSHS was similar but I never thought it had the same atmosphere on a consistent basis (because of lack of supporters). Ross Oval is now the...

And that is without Paulo or Hagan either recovering from injury or still injured.

Is that a full time score?

    QLD Schools Rugby U/16 2012

Yes it is a shame as my mail was that Larosa had a cracker on Saturday and shut down (albeit a tired) Tuttle. In earlier games I thought Larosa's defence was outstanding but just not showing anything in attack at that time. If he was a day or two younger he would have been valuable player for...

Larosa not eligible for u16 as too old.

    Queensland Junior Rugby

Parents as coaches of rep teams happens more often in club rep teams. This is a school based team. More likely it helps to be from same school as coach as player is more "known"

Haha I have seen that happen many times as well. To be fair, on some occasions the people have only become managers after the child has been selected.

Karl May be too late to let your son know, but my experience is to keep it simple. If he is a forward I would say, go hard and get your head over the ball, if he is a back I would say "get involved and look for the ball". I know of a couple of boys trialling for the same team today. It is...

    Waratahs - post-season think

Last night there were three things that stood out to me with Waratah's backline:- 1. Barnes was injured. In my mind during most of the warm up he favoured one leg and I would go as far as say he was limping. Could not believe it was happening and that he was going to play. 2. The timing /...

Will the Reds make the Final?

If the results fall as above it would be unbelievable for the Reds to host the Grand Final. Considering as late as Friday it would take a freak result or two just to make the finals. Just shows you should never give up. We only just missed beating the Sharks after injuries and Digby off...

Will the Reds make the Final?

On like Donkey Kong tonight for the Reds (as usual anyway for a NSW match) but the bp win has massive significance now for a Reds home final next week. C'mon Queensland!!!!!!

    Brumbies v Blues Round 18

Gees, Brumbies could miss the finals altogether if they don't score in next 7 mins and Reds get 4 tries to win tonight. Who would have thought that was possible before the game.

    QLD GPS Rugby 2012

Two weeks to go and many followers of QLD GPS rugby are starting to get toey, enduring the longest break between seasons in living memory. I believe it is shaping up as one of the closest seasons for many years. There are some "x" factors that those involved in this comp have not experienced...

    Reds V Highlanders Rd 17

I have seen a few games in my time, but I have never seen a game ruined as a spectacle the way Kaplan butchered the game tonight.

    QLD Schools Rugby U/16 2012

I thought there were going to be two u16 Queensland teams (red and white) as per previous years. If that is correct there should be enough places to fit the talent in.

Bear, I thought Paulo and Hagan were out for the season with injuries / illness. Can anyone confirm? Bronson is playing prop for BBC, so it may be too big an adjustment to just move to open flanker. I thought Rodwell may have figured in the backrow.

Pick and go is correct. I was referring to past tours. QLD teams have traditionally been on average a year younger than the NSW school teams. This can be a huge difference at this age and probably why some QLD GPS schools choose not to play Sydney GPS schools in pre season trials.

    QLD GPS Rugby 2012

I think pick and go was asking about why Terrace was not playing Sydney GPS schools while on their Southern tour. A couple of guesses - most of the teams they played are/were Christian Brothers schools - so easier to organise. Also in past tours when they have played Sydney GPS schools, i...

QLD Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2012

Agree with this but also surprised by what I thought were poor results from AIC teams. While I did not attend the games the results indicate that AIC were not close to GPS teams on the whole ( yes I note the close game between the no. 1 sides). However, the GPS boys have hardly any match...
