What about the situation where the clubs find jobs and help with rental payments for country kids?

Oz Schools v NZ Schools Test & Tour

All players involved in the group friom which the U19 side is selected are all playing colts and have been nominated by their clubs to attend. This current process is one of the new processes the ARU has adopted in trying to identify talent to be involved in those two things. I don't think any...

Oz Schools v NZ Schools Test & Tour

I believe the U19 game is really a trial of sorts for two purposes 1. Possible National Academy spots, and 2. Possible candidates for the OZ U20 side for next year. if this is so I don't think it is a meaningless exercise

Oz Schools v NZ Schools Test & Tour

Well I hope you can let us know when we can set it as I will be in Brissie that day watching the NSW v Qld junior and U19 games at Ballymore and I want to set it as early as possible so I don't forget

    Waratahs 2013

Why not have Mitchell at Fullback and use his counter attacking skills? He is the best player to run the ball back at a broken defensive line

    What about some colts

Which clubs are the Class of 2012 going to?

Lee no I didn't see any of that - players like Alan Alaatoa at Wests and Max Jones at Norths certainly handled themselves very well this year in the front row. As for back rowers players like Dombkins at Manly and Orr from Wests, Baldwin from Randwick as backrowers certainly handled the role of...

Which clubs are the Class of 2012 going to?

I keep hearing that schoolboy stars are found out when they go to colts but looking at the 1st Colts this year I see that many of the "schoolboy stars" performed quite well and maintained their spots in the 1st team all year. Looking at the lower grade colts teams I haven't seen too many high...

Sydney Fleet / Central Coast Rays / West Sydney Rams

I think that we should also include say 4 Colts players as development players

Which clubs are the Class of 2012 going to?

Norths have been doing this for the past 3 years at least. They contact directly some of the better players and invite them in for talks and then offer a general invitation to others to come along and have a look at what Norths offer

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2012

may I just add that Reece Hodge has been in great form for Manly 1st colts this year - organises his backs well, reads the game exceptionally well, good defence, is a gola kicker with a high success rate and has a long kick off the foot. There were comments earlier about why the selectors did...

NSW JRU State Championships & Representative Teams 2012

The reason why they seect NSW 1 and 2 at opens is because there is no NSW Juniors at U18. The selection process for Opens is the NSW Schools Tournament where the Associations rep sides play (GPS, CAS,ISA, CCC, CHS, AICES and NSW Country Schools). As for a National U17 Championship I havent...

NSW JRU State Championships & Representative Teams 2012

The other issue I have with some of the comments is if the system was to be "rectified" and the "best" 17 year olds were available then you would possibly have the same players representing their school, their school association, their State at school level, their club zone, Sydney Juniors and...

NSW JRU State Championships & Representative Teams 2012

If you want system similar to NZ then you have no club rugby up to the age of 18 - it is all schools under this age

    Sydney Colts 2012

This seems to have been forgotten but there is a NSW U19 team to be selected in the next week (announced week end 21 Sept). i thought I would make some suggestions and let people fill in the missing blanks 1. Silatolu Latu (Uni) 2. 3. Alan Allatoa (Wests) 4. Jesse Harris (Randwick) 5. Harry...

NSW JRU State Championships & Representative Teams 2012

The make-up of the Under 17's is a representation of the best players available out of the club scene at that age. As such they can be proud of being the rep team for the NSW Junior Rugby Union, an association responsible for running and organising the junior competitions, outside the Schools...

    Sydney Colts 2012

Uni always treat the opposition with respect and always prepare for a close hard game - thats one of the reasons they can achieve some lopsided results in their games - they go hard all the time. Norths certainly provided them with some strong opposition both in the season and in the GF. The...
