Wallabies v England in Melbourne, 18 June

He had a few days to learn the Wallabies structures, calls, etc up against players who have been in that system for literally years. Cheiks wanted to get a good look at him in person I'm sure and had good reason to lure him home anyway (our depth at 8 is shit). Sorry, but anyone who expected a...

Wallabies v England in Melbourne, 18 June

Surely this has to be the test where we can get a firm measurement of McMahon as a test player? Not coming off the bench, not playing a lower-tier nation or the BaaBaas, but stern Tier 1 test opposition. Will be interesting to see how he goes (not that I'll know anytime soon, going to be at a...

Wallabies v England in Melbourne, 18 June

Based on my survey of the usual rugby forums earlier today there's still quite a few English fans who believe the reason Marler was blown up in the RWC was because of an organized smear campaign by GAGR and not because he (and all the other LHPs under Rowntree) had been scrummaging illegally for...

Junior rugby based on weight classes

As a half.. blokes nearly twice your size running down your throat is hardly limited to Juniors! I do think that some type of sliding scale system with some room left for discretion by the local union is in the best interest of developing skillful players from a young age.

    Reds 2017

Please no Diggers. Wonderful service to QLD rugby in his time but by all accounts his body is in no way capable of handling top-flight rugby again.

    Reds 2017

If it's actually true it's great news for the Reds when it comes to replacing Gill. He was one of Wasps best players last year.

    Reds 2017

Yeah I was about to edit my post as I realized I omitted his second yellow (and subsequent red) - that one was very deserved.

    Reds 2017

Was able to catch a good chunk of the Scotland v. Australia U-20's match the other day. Mason still looks a long ways off Super Rugby (based on this match), had some moments I think he'd rather forget. Big Red received a yellow card pretty early on but it was a crap card and some tiddlywinks...

Wallabies v England, Sat 11th June, 8.00pm, Suncorp Brisbane

Haven't heard anything about a domestic or North American broadcast but I haven't really been looking either. Been getting spoiled silly by Super Rugby being available on ESPN3.com.. Still, it would take an act of God to prevent me from getting a link for the game. I'll do my best to...

Well, he has 15 caps for Australia

    Waratahs 2016

Holy shit this is worse than the last Quade thread

    Reds 2016

The structure of a 7's tournament also lends itself far more to a day-long carnival than a XV's match does

    England is coming!

Worked well enough in the 6 Nations. If none of the homers were able to get that far under his skin we may struggle to do so short of recruiting Liam Messam to run water for the Wallabies.

    Waratahs v Chiefs - Round 14 - Friday 27 May 2016

Yeah, it's something they do to get around the offsides laws and put huge pressure on receivers in the backfield.

    England is coming!

For stuff he did at domestic level.. He had an 8-week for the bite on Ferris in 2012 but that's been his only real transgression in the test arena. I don't think he actually missed any tests for that either - just the remainder of the domestic season! It seems he only likes to take...

    England is coming!

His disciplinary record in Tests is pretty good.

    England is coming!

Worked pretty well for the Lions. Nobody is discrediting the Wallabies scrum. Kepu turned himself into one of the best THPs in the world over the last few years and it was awesome to see. Holmes, Sio, and Slipper all followed on a similar trajectory and our scrum is easily better than it's...

    England is coming!

It's a deliberate tactic that Rowntree has been coaching his LHPs to execute for years. Even the Lions did it. Neitehr Vunipola or Marler are particularly flash when scrummaging straight so by swinging out their hips they can start a wheel, creating the illusion of dominance, before...

    The Wallabies Thread

No. He's been a standout at Bath for the last few years and already plays almost exactly how Cheika coached Pocock to play at 8. Our depth at 8 has been really poor for several years as well - especially in terms of the type of player Cheika wants in that position. With Vaea gone there's...

    The Wallabies Thread

Houston is going to be fine if he's in the Wallabies squad. We would have seen this happening last year if it wasn't a RWC year. He's been overdue for a call up. I'd rather it have been Vaea but Houston is pretty handy himself (and has become a fairly good lineout operator too!)
