    Sydney Subbies 2014

UNSW form has been flakey lately but they have been there or thereabouts. If they are hungry enough they can get there.

    Sydney Subbies 2014

Massive weekend for UNSW in 2nd DIV who can qualify 4 grades + colts into semi finals with wins over Newport in a double point round. Its death or glory for the UNSW boys as loses could see them qualify only colts & 4ths. If the results go the other way the Breakers could be looking for minor...

Is this mail good? I've heard they are making a killing at home games with turnover but doubtful they'd direct that to player payments.

    Sydney Subbies 2014

Good question. I'm not closer enough to know.

Crashy have to disagree with you on this one as I cant see the benefit of sacrificing Brothers in Div1 based on the premise "thats what weve always done". How if it benefical for a Brothers or for that matter UNSW or Newport to go up to Div 1, end up fielding 3 or max 4 teams (including colts)...

    Sydney Subbies 2014

Good to see Blacktown ripping in and giving it a tilt after dropping a Div last year. How long have Redfield been around for? A higher div definately awaits.

Im not sure either club has the depth to field enough teams to be a Div 1 club. I'd suspect both of them would end up being in Beefcrofts current position and only able to field 3 teams. Brothers have had a great rise through the DIV's and are building nicely with a colts program to position...

    Sydney Subbies 2014

So if chatter on the subbies facebook side is correct Hornsby are now off to the central coast comp. Another club dissapears from subbies with further ramifications for next years Divs. Im sticking with 3 x 8 team comps in Div 1, 2 and 3. Beecroft can replace Hornsby in Div 3 and Campbellton...

    Sydney Subbies 2014

Ill have a stab at Div 2 with 3 weeks to go, with some wet weather games to come and taking into home away schedule I have come up with the below finals line up. My opening comment is what on earth has happened at UNSW?? With two games against Div 2 surprise packets Newport I cannot see them...

Gotchya.....safe to say you'll always get one or two higher graders drift lower come semis time but my experience is the players that have played all season in that grade will not make way.

    Sydney Subbies 2014

So the requisite dodgy team sheet is submitted, and the names who played both grades are conspicuously absent from First Grade. Subbies check their records, and hey presto! Suddenly all these guys who were half-decent First Grade are awesome Second Grade players! Gotchya...........safe to...

Hi Pfitzy, not sure what your getting at here? How could it advantage a club to run the same players for two games in a row?

    Sydney Subbies 2014

Crashy that is obviously a picture of you in the middle photo bombing your mates. My source from Newport reports that they went through 75+ cases of beer during the Breakers vs Forest local derby. I would argue that those two clubs consistantly draw the largest crowds in subbies.

    Sydney Subbies 2014

I realise that the camera was on the same side as the crowd but didnt sound like there were to many there. Which DiV club gets the biggest home crowds?

    Sydney Subbies 2014

Brothers vs Hunters...DIV 2s semi professionals lock horns in what will be a cracker. I'm calling Brothers at home in a close one.

    Sydney Subbies 2014

According to subbies this week: A club this week has breached its tolerable level of offences and will now face further penalties – including the loss of one full round of competition points

That apparently worked well for St Ives who had 4 players cited and suspended post game based on their own video evidence.

    Sydney Subbies 2014

Ozzie Bob...................whats happened to BOBS? Smashed by Forest in 1s & 2s and possibly signalling the end of their semi final aspirations.

+ increased interaction with senior grades. Very rarely in SS do the colts cross paths with their grade colleagues.

    Sydney Subbies 2014

And here lies the problem for subbies. Every club will say they dont pay players. HH are paying 4 players and unforunately Seagull you are not one of them. 3rd party sponsors and other wealthy alumni make the payments so clubs can put their hand on their hearts and say we arent paying.
