    7s Competitions

The reason for the investment has more to do with the limitations of the 15-a-side competition structure. 7s allows a club to take their brand where ever you want in the world and play who ever you want instead of the same old teams in a competition that the governing body fails to invest in and...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2011

The academy positions are all that is left and there has been no roll out of information from the ARU yet. Apparently players had to be nominated by a franchise but I am not aware of any contract offers yet. Same goes for 7s.

    QLD Premier Rugby 2011

Interesting weekend with all of the losing teams from last weekends Major semi-finals going down. Be interesting to see if all these emerging teams will be able to close the gap on the top teams that have had a weeks rest.

Don't confuse passion with arrogance. Souths did it hard from the 1940s to the 1980s and with one of the tightest memberships through the Lauries connection there are a number of players who have decades of family tradition. The season finishes now so that we don't have players leaving for Sydney so that they are still playing when Wallabies are looking for players to cover injuries/call ups. The club comp is designed to support player development, not your social calendar.

There are some interesting points raised in the recent posts however you wouldn't want all clubs to adopt the same strategy. While money does help clubs have to be very careful in how they spend it...

    Tri Nations Game 6 - Wallabies vs All Blacks - Saturday 27 August 2011 - 3N2011

First half was the best ever by a Wallaby team. ABs responded with a disciplined first 20 minutes resulting in a 21 phase try. If these 2 teams don't meet in the final of the RWC then the tournament will be a miss. Doesn't matter who wins if we get a game like tonight.
