    Aussie Player Exodus

I hope to goodness the ARU didn't buy out Douglas' contract, even if it benefits Irish rugby. It would set a very dangerous precedent if Unions start paying 'clubs' across borders even if Leinster are an IRFU team.

    Big change to eligibility rules

What is the craic with the ARU asking for Kane Douglas to be released from Leinster for the RWC? Does that indicate that one of the Aussie franchises is going to come in for him and the ARU will buy out his contract with Leinster? Just to be clear, I have no problem with him being called up, I...

    RWC 2015 Referee Appointments

To be fair, there was a lot less latitude this past NH season to loose heads scrummaging at all angles which is part of the reason Corbesiero has struggled. The English scrum is also nowhere near as good as they like to think it is, Ireland won that battle quite easily in the six nations.

    RWC 2015 Referee Appointments

Poite is a terrible appointment for Australia in the England game. Can't see you fellas beating England with that idiot blowing the whistle.

    Northern Hemisphere Rugby Season 14/15

The European Union forced a rule change on the tax break. It will be very strange to see Paulie playing for Toulon but I am of the belief that it is for the best for Munster and Ireland that both teams move on straight after Paulie has lifted the William Webb Ellis trophy on the 31st October...

15th of August is the opening of the RWC international window hence why the womens' areas that run the English clubs are refusing to release non English internationals until that date.

Youngs is flaky as fuck just like his brother. Alun Wyn Jones will be licking his lips at the prospect of Tom Youngs throwing in for England in the RWC.

    Northern Hemisphere Rugby Season 14/15

The pro 12 final will be between Glasgow and Munster. Munster could be without Conor Murray, Peter O'Mahony and Simon Zebo who all went off injured in yesterday's semi final. That said the Red Army will descend on Ravenhill and it looks as though it will be Paul O'Connell's last game for Munster.

Assaulting two female police officers, fair play to Lancaster although I doubt if he would have been fit anyway. Should think he will be off to Toulon at the end of next season, he will get on well with the Armitage brothers.

    Northern Hemisphere Rugby Season 14/15

Many Thanks. I thought the Hendo challenge was a yellow card myself as it was reckless. But these clearouts, which are contrary to the law requiring players bind onto another play to join ruck or maul, are a hypodermic in a children's play area. I hope Hendo doesn't get a ban but the pro 12 is...

    Northern Hemisphere Rugby Season 14/15

It was a cracker of a game, well worth a look. Although I was a bit distracted as my wife started her contractions half an hour before kick off. Baby has arrived now so I doubt I will get any time to watch the replay.

Don't know whether the game will be on in Aus, but the Ulster V Munster game tomorrow is going to be an absolute cracker of a game.

    Northern Hemisphere Rugby Season 14/15

I really do feel that the NH interpretation of the breakdown especially the one espoused by Wayne Barnes is a large part of the reason for so much aerial stuff and indeed mauling. Joe Schmidt clearly sees that firing the ball into the stratosphere is one of the best ways to retain possession but...

    Northern Hemisphere Rugby Season 14/15

The tackle is reffed very differently in the two hemispheres, with tacklers allowed much more license to challenge for the ball, with minimal release, in the NH. This allows the defensive line much more time to organise itself and, generally, it is half a metre, at least, further forward/...

A friendly soul managed to get past the pay wall Owen Slot Chief Rugby Correspondent Last updated at 12:01AM, April 30 2015 Leading professional rugby players in England reacted with incredulity yesterday to the news that the investigation into a possible breach of the salary cap by Saracens...

    Northern Hemisphere Rugby Season 14/15

All sorts of shenanigans going on. The English Premier league have voted to stop investigating alleged breaches of the salary cap because of concerns it will put off supporters and sponsors. Further to this, they didn't want to undermine PRL's reputation as they enter negotiations for England...

They are giving away pairs of tickets for next weekends Nigels cup final. That is right, giving away two tickets to watch Clermont V Toulon. International rugby doesn't have too much to worry about in terms of paying supporters.

Hate seeing lads forced to retire early, Declan Fitzpatrick the Ulster and Ireland prop had to pack it in last week. That said both of them are lucky compared to Scott Williams who has just come out of hospital but faces life in a wheel chair.

But most of the market in the NH is for SH test players. You would have something to fear from the Irish but, given the whole Island has the same number of foreign players as one French club that shouldn't be a priority.

    Big change to eligibility rules

The selection of Armitage is all about politics and the relationship between the English clubs and the RFU. The RFU have left the clubs, PRL, with much too much control of the game in England, and Europe, and the clubs do not want players from overseas being selected because all the English...
