Hurricanes v Reds Sat 23rd April

Home town ref is always helpful

Waratahs vs Chiefs. Fri April 22, 2022

Last try, they are carding the cynical stopping of an serious attacking opportunity, later in the game he carded a cynical ruck infringement that stopped a serious attacking opportunity Without that clear and obvious attacking opportunity it is just a penalty Most ruck infringements are...

Waratahs vs Chiefs. Fri April 22, 2022

Berry checked on the overlap before the binning - to check of it was a real opportunity, most rucks aren't "real opportunities", when they are they get a yellow, they also get yellows for repeated He wasn't in a position to catch that, it was cynical

Waratahs vs Chiefs. Fri April 22, 2022

I thought the Tahs attitude was again quite good, good comeback and they know what they are supposed to do - which is a marked improvement, but the chiefs weren't great

Cynical plays at the ruck generally don't stop 2 man overlaps, and as in this game, when a ruck infringement is deemed a cynical play they are binned as well

    Experimental rules/laws.

I haven't seen a better solution, the penalty for infringing at the moment is just so random and ref centred, some don't tolerate much, some let too much go. I want sides prepared to continually infringe under advantage until they take the 3 punished I would like that punishment more...

    Wallabies 2023

He plays as a second 7 from 6, teams of the week selection rewarded his work doing 7 stuff not his core responsibilities as a 6 and I think Samu would be played at 7 before him at the Wobs (good 7 though)

I don't mind the penalty counter idea (especially on the screen), too many sides when under a penalty advantage turn that advantage into a shit fight. Seeing each infringement adding up would be interesting whilst adding some consistency to infringing outcomes - teams know that some refs let...

    interesting idea from Johnson https://www.smh.com.au/sport/rugby-union/why-don-t-they-all-count-aussie-pushing-for-basketball-style-foul-limits-in-rugby-20220420-p5aeqx.html

I don't think we can win in an high scoring game

    Wallabies 2023

As a Kiwi, he has a tougher path, especially if he visits his homeland too regularly as the eligibility clock can reset And more importantly he isn't up to it (so far) as a Super Rugby 6, let alone a test 6, and we have better 7 options

Waratahs vs Chiefs. Fri April 22, 2022

If the Tahs are in this game it will be because of their defence, in that he will be an asset

    Waratahs 2022

Again, they would be moving as "back ups" not a starting spot unless they punt and try to start at the Rebs or Force So not for money, back ups don't get much, starting from scratch, the cost of moving - it isn't a compelling sell

    Waratahs 2022

Possibly, but to where? And why would it be better for their rugby? There is a lot of evidence stuff isn't greener elsewhere and none of the 3 has locked in their spot where they are

Australian Super Rugby Team of the Week 2022

He plays like many of those underappreciated Kiwi backs, he just does the job consistently well and can be relied upon deliver every week Not performing at the Rebels? He ain't alone there
  16. fatprop

    Waratahs 2022

He contributes and is delivering few errors Pietsch is contributing no more and making more errors Pro rugby is harsh

Western Force v Waratahs: Saturday 16th April

I would have given the Tahs a 6/10 We were lucky early, a 14 point turnaround from an intercept is always a coach killer I think Coleman has plenty issues to highlight and tighten up But the attitude is there

Western Force v Waratahs: Saturday 16th April

mmm, if we are smart we source another youngling, 7 is an area where the tahs can under budget Hooper plays 80 and rarely gets injured, Gamble will need to develop his 6 play to get game time

    Waratahs 2023

yeah, no, we have one the best young 12s out for the season and with Beale returning, we have our fill of elderly backs I would rather see more investment in 2m locks right now, we are living with dwarves with workrate (I never thought I would be describing Holloway as demonstrating...
