The impending Hooper vs Pocock Dilemma

Pretty straightforward for me; if both are fit and available for selection, Pocock gets the starting berth - primarily because he can impose himself physically when the Wallabies forward pack is collectively being dominated and starved of ball. I can not recall within the last year or two a...

    Brumbies v Force Rnd 4 2015

Although we won the pre-season fixture, that obviously counts for nothing with the majority of the Brumbies' Wallabies rested. The last two games between the two teams have been one-sided, especially in Canberra. If the Brumbies don't blow the Force off the park early as they have usually...

Can Cheika ball work for the Wallabies?

I would hope that with the appointment of Larkham, Cheika-Ball is tweaked to also include a kicking game akin to what Larkham has established at the Brumbies This is as imperative now as it's ever been as evidenced by the dominance of tactical kicking (by Ireland in particular) in the Six Nations.

Force v Hurricanes Super Rugby 2015 Rnd 3

Review up: http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/force-demolished-rampant-hurricanes/ Is Jay C around? He never passes up the opportunity to s^&t on the Force

Force v Hurricanes Super Rugby 2015 Rnd 3

Edit. Wizard ^ Writing this review is going to be real painful. Absolutely embarrasing to watch the Canes dominate the Force physically and nullify our strength at the breakdown. Don't get me started on the kicking.

What a meteoric rise for Kane!

    Western Force 2015

Makes sense to bring in a tighthead. Would allow Tetera to play in his natural position of loosehead, and give an opportunity to Hoskins or Heiberg to start at tighthead. Can't help but think we might need another lh though.

Force v Hurricanes Super Rugby 2015 Rnd 3

If they are leaving overseas, we should run them ragged; send them off to their cashed-up clubs worse for wear as a disincentive to recruit Australian players. Besides, the ARU policy is to flog the players. They can rest when they're injured.

Force v Hurricanes Super Rugby 2015 Rnd 3

Lineouts has always been an issue since Wykes has taken over from Sharpe. If he wasn't stand-in captain I'd swap him for Steenkamp.

Reds v Force 2015 Super Rugby Rd 2

Kane and Richard Hardwick are the backup opensides if I recall If anything, the issues are with our prop stocks. Cowan and van Wyk with an injury cloud over their heads means we have two tightheads - Hoskins and Heiberg - and Faulkner who can cover both. If Cowan does not recover in time for...

    2015S15 SA vs NZ matches

Yeah when he was distracted by his appointment as Canes coach. He had only one eye on the Lions, and the other on prepping for Super Rugby. I came to that assessment based on the Lions' 2013 season. The forward pack were powerful and uncompromising, which laid down the platform for their typically...

Rebels v Waratahs 2015 Super Rugby Rd 2

Totality Tony has really added some steel to the Rebels' forward pack, and Zane Hilton has further built upon it significantly this year. Looking real good for you Mexicans.

    2015S15 SA vs NZ matches

I said it when Boyd was appointed as the Canes coach, they will really push for finals this year. 2/2 in the Republic is massive. Bulls same old same old

The impending Hooper vs Pocock Dilemma

The dual opensides tactic can only really be employed with a 6/2 bench, but even then we would give away too much in the lineout and size in open play for mobility - and mobility is the least of the Wallabies' problems. I can't think of a tier 1 team where we could pull off having such a...

Reds v Force 2015 Super Rugby Rd 2

Normally the Force's underdog status would have been relinquished by now. However, with all the disruptions in the Reds: JOC (James O'Connor)'s first start in a Reds' jersey after having last played a game for Toulon (that is to say the rumour he pulled up in training with an injury isn't true, and Frisby is...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

This is the ARU we're talking about here........ Recruiting league backs is more important than retaining players in areas of weakness.
