Quade telling it how it is

That's pretty fair though. Folau dominated league at the highest level for quite a while, so being less in demand than him isn't a terminal criticism. I'm sure a lot of clubs will go to significant lengths to get cooper for 2014.

Australia v. France 10 Nov 2012 Stade de France, Paris

Dennis put himself in that position though. He initiated the contact, needlessly, which made an otherwise very blatant hold-back look far less suspicious. I really rate him usually, but that was one forgettable game.

Australia v. France 10 Nov 2012 Stade de France, Paris

You know you're in for a long day when the French are crying during their anthem. That was hugely impressive from les bleus, so much power in the forwards.

    End of Year Tour 2012

Shame for the Irish then. I was watching it in a pub, so was a bit distracted, but I thought they played some pretty good rugby. Bit lateral, but nice to see some old-school backline moves.

    End of Year Tour 2012

I think rugby is a multi-generational game, in that it works best when people are raised with it. We won't generate successful teams out of nothing; the goal has to be to create dads/mums who raise dads/mums who raise footballers with the nouse of Larkham. Once we get rugby into the DNA of a...

    End of Year Tour 2012

They're pretty into American Football and basketball too, though rugby definitely has a profile. And as a side-note, isn't ice hockey a fantastic sport? I find it really rewarding talking to Canadians and Yanks about rugby. There's a general lack of knowledge, but also huge respect for the...

    End of Year Tour 2012

That's a shame. NZ Maori are playing Canada soon, I was hoping they'd put up a good stoush. Edit: is it Samoa's top team though? That's probably a bit stronger than NZ Maori (minus the Maori ABs).

    Reds 2013

That might be a bit of an over-statement, but it was definitely a funny pick up. "Gee, we're a bit short on wingers. Anyone around here have five super rugby premierships? Yep? Cool."

    End of Year Tour 2012

I think you'll win all four. You've got Wales all worked out, and Priestland and Warburton have been playing shit, and Lydiate is injured. You'll beat France because they're lazy and don't care, you'll beat Italy because you're better than them, and you'll beat England because you have a good...

    Respect for Refs..an interesting article

Soccer blows my mind like that. I was watching an EPL game the other day in which the ref tried to walk away from a really fired-up player, and the player grabbed his shoulder and pulled him back. That should be an automatic red. If you touch the ref with anything other than a hand-shake or...

And he'll deserve every last bit of it.

Jonah Lomu rugby was pretty great, back in the days of PS1.

Quade telling it how it is

Caleb Ralph was the finest athlete the game has ever seen, and frankly it was an outrage that the ABs ever picked that Tongan bloke over him. I thought Quade seemed very contrite. That's a pretty significant fine, and the real fine is the (probably temporary) loss of an ARU top up. Hopefully...

Quade telling it how it is

Agreed. Not just because that's who the apology is really owed to, but also because that's more compelling to the public when news of it inevitably leaks. I hope he sticks around. I like watching him play, and I think he's had an extremely difficult year (world cup, crowd booing, injuries...

    2012 – ITM CUP - NZ's 3rd Tier Competition

I think it speaks to squad depth, if not quality of starting XV. And we're constantly hearing that depth wins super premierships these days. I guess, justified or otherwise, I've had high hopes the last few years.

    Foreign recruitment

Cheers LG. I value that this is a place that can tolerate a diatribe.

    Western Force 2013

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by Hayward (apologies if you already know a fair bit about him, just thought I'd post a bit of footage). In the below videos he's the 12, with grey head-gear. I admit that the defence in ITM this year has hardly been vintage, but these are still an...
