    Force 2023

And Wayne Smith plus a slew of QRU faithful IIRC. Reg shrugged it off though.

    Force 2023

Neither of them are -- being real -- right now.^ The kerfuffle generated when Rodda left the Reds -- and he wasn't even poached -- would be multifold if Cron was luring non-discarded, non-disgruntled, or non-overseas Wallabies. ^it will change

    Force 2023

It is well and good. But what you're claiming as "the only way" isn't the sole solution that's been put out there. Another way is to variously increase the limit under the cap to equalise the (overall) salary bill per franchise.

Fair players looking elsewhere. I'd think WF have made the right move, tho.

Australia A - Back on the Cards

Yep. Reason is the Kolpak ruling that applies within the EU to a citizen of a country that has signed an EU Association Agreement. Provided said person has a valid work permit, they have the same right to freedom of movement and work there as an EU citizen does This applies to all member...

Australia A - Back on the Cards

But the Force should have given McDonald a bit more game time instead of making him the non-playing backup to the backup, especially towards the back end of the season. They got it wrong IMO.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Heh... knew I could rely on that response :b ... I think they'll survive. Netball would've had to go domestic anyways over covid. Here's a a question, though, from the other side ... Is the NRL and A-League a great option from the NZ p.o.v.? Overall, I think not. The reason those handful of NZ...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I say it is. In reality, NRL, NBL and A-League are still domestic leagues, even with Warriors, Breakers, Phoenix. The netball league split from enzed some years back, added teams and went all Aus.

    Aussie Player Exodus

MLR conveniently waited until Austin had played in the 18th and last round of the regular season before booting the team into touch. In fact, they announced it on the same day of that game. When I say "announced", they didn't state a specific reason, just the banning. Were they not confident...

    Aussie Player Exodus

We don't know that. If it's the same outcome, maybe they've extorted themselves then. By extorted, I mean screwed - or are you saying there was some criminal action here in the threat to leave?

^ TBF, the septics have been their own basket case for a long while.

    Aussie Player Exodus

I wouldn't put too much stock in Drew Mitchell's twitterings. However, this ... ... doesn't add anything either. Being kicked out the door after a "threat" to leave is the same outcome. The real threat will be if/when parties start seeking redress through the courts. Rugby won't be the...

    Aussie Player Exodus

Yep. Looks like LA added to the pyre. Been reading about the MLR implosion for a while but somehow missed its mentions here on GAGR - with WCR normally the main man. Probably should have looked harder. Interesting story playing out. Not only the Australian angle, but overall.
