    Northern Hemisphere Rugby Season 14/15

On Monday I wrote a blog about the semis here: http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/clermont-and-toulon-advance-to-european-final/ .

    The Tuesday Top Five

Haven't had time to watch all the Super Rugby games yet but - - is this the year that the Crusaders can't make it back to be contenders? - the strength of the NZ Conference - the weakness of the Aus Conference - or are the Rebels improving it a tad now. - the boot of Jack Debreczini -...

    CAS Rugby 2015

There is no fixture list for 2015 on the CAS site as I write this, but I understand that the CAS fixtures will be in reverse order from what they were last year. In other words: the five games of first half of the 2015 season will be played in the same order and at the same ground as the five...

Let's get this going again for this weekend please.

2015 IRB Junior Rugby World Cup - Italy

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Good for Sam. He was a bit behind the other NSW U20 wingers and missed the cut but he's a good player and I'm glad he got a gig: it will be a great experience for him. I thought one of the NSW wingers who was preferred, Christian Yassmin (his team mate at Scots), should have...

2015 IRB Junior Rugby World Cup - Italy

Sandell amazes me because he is not the biggest guy going around for a THP (anybody know a 2015 weight?). Whereas an older guy can get away with it, it is rare that an U20 eligible, lighter THP can make his mark at scrum-time in the 3 jersey, in the Shute Shield, in first grade. I saw him...

    "Club Rugby" on 7Two

Pardon my ignorance. I knew the SS rugby was going on 7Two but I thought you couldn't watch that channel on Foxtel - maybe because I'm never on that page of All Channels. But just fiddling with my remote control just now I realised I could get 7Two on it. So I go to next Saturday to record the...

    Waratahs 2015

Any future messages on the Cheika/referee matter in this thread will be nuked - even if it is part of a post. If you want to comment on it, take it to the match thread where those interested can discuss it; but do it without playing the man. Not many of us are interested now. Bullrush - no...

    Waratahs 2015

Yes I did see him. I don't think he is going to be a super star any more than Eni Folau, Izzy's brother, will be. Eni is built differently from bro' and played prop. He and the African lad trained well in pre-season and played to their potential for Gen Blue. .

    Waratahs 2015

This is the fellow who was shown in an image on Twitter or Facebook or something and was in this thread in about December. Apparently Cheika went apeshit about it because he was not supposed to appear or be mentioned in any kind of media at that time. Knowing his story back-channel I mentioned...

2015 IRB Junior Rugby World Cup - Italy

An excellent post there roo, and you make an excellent point about reading the play. it's as important for forwards to read the tight play on attack or defence as it is the backs to read it on attack or defence. When, and precisely where, to make your participations is an attribute that all...

2015 IRB Junior Rugby World Cup - Italy

Good call on Jack Redden, one of my favourites from watching the NSW 20s since December, but apparently he didn't make his mark in the win against Qld. .

2015 IRB Junior Rugby World Cup - Italy

He's a stepping 12 and is a future Rebel for sure. At the Aus Schools national championships last year he was a standout though not later against NZ Schools (not that many were) as others have mentioned. I was a bit surprised that both he and Henry Hutchison (who was injured before the Aus...

    The Tuesday Top Five

Thanks King - I was more interested in how I could see the vision and you explained it at the end. Will you ask a few parents in the crowd what they think of the JGC? .

What are the details of this, King? .

    The Tuesday Top Five

Unfortunately the red card of Big Kev and its significance on the game should be an item. The emergence of Naivalu from the local Dewar Shield competition then playing in the NRC and then Super Rugby (and having a blinder last night) would be a matter of interest. He won't be eligible for...

The Beauden Barrett try against the Stormers should be on YouTube by now. It may be worth a pass by pass appreciation and you can embed the video i your piece. .

2015 IRB Junior Rugby World Cup - Italy

I rated McKenzie highly in both games NZ Schools played at Knox in 2013 (they also played Aus A schools). I thought he was a standout. http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/nz-schools-beat-australian-schools-in-nail-biter/ http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/australian-schools-beat-fiji-schools/2/ .

    Australian Schoolboys 2014

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ That's a bit scary HJ, but this quote from the article gives hope: “My biggest dream is to play for the Waratahs,” he said. His plan is to make the switch to club rugby at the end of this year, and then push his claim for a Super Rugby contract. .
