    Shute Shield 2017

yep savings, and also help promote with premier teams venturing outside of the normal area, in NSW Lake Make, Hunter, Crescent, Mudgee, all make for a good weekend away - these tournaments would get stronger, and you would accrue points for the finals, top 4 teams from each state for a weekend...

    Shute Shield 2017

I really enjoy 7s live with a carnival atmosphere, on the box it doesn't really work so a hard sell for broadcasting and if it doesnt rate it may be a detrament to the 15s broadcasting $. I'd be mindful of running it during the NRC Window because there are some players who excel at both - The...

    Shute Shield 2017

All good, There has been a couple picked up Killingworth. Wells. And there would be a couple more as well. I know of a few more that were asked to train with the squad but opted for 15's so they new they could play rugby rather than just squad.

    Shute Shield 2017

^^^^ Amirite - yes so so so many layers, yep does sound familiar. I think the suggested concept sounds great - would like to see a cash flow forecast to see the viability. No doubt the global circuit has $$$ behind it that assists with promotion - it just doesn't happen. Look at the crowds in...

    Shute Shield 2017

Just picked this extract off http://www.rugbynews.net.au/ I really like the concept but when in the calender could it be done, players, volunteers, etcmay want a break and offseason after the SS & NRC. The Central Coast 7s is awesome & captures teams globally and clubs can play. The Kiama...

    Shute Shield 2017

AD, yes as said it should allow all clubs to increase their gate, and some by more than others. Gordon is also one of those clubs that has a cricket pitch in the middle and in years past has been a strong club that has pulled gate - remember the days of A Murdock, T Wallace, K Okane, Harthill...

    Shute Shield 2017

I thought it was a great read and alot of the unknowns / questions answered. Whilst there will know doubt be detracters from the SS haters it is good to see the approach is positive and on the front foot for the good of the game.

    Rebels 2017

Another Shute Sheild player steps up ;) All fun aside DPG is a great get, works hard, and doesnt go missing - him and Hodge were an awesome centre pairing back in 16. A very good get.

    NRC onwards and upwards

The Rays haven't reimbursed theirs yet as far as I'm aware.

    NRC onwards and upwards

My understanding it was an initial investment to get it up and running. Once the team was self sustained the money would be reimbursed.

True, and QLD have 2 fewer Premier Teams than NSW. As someone else has said there are so many bodies wanting there say under the ARU - some have valid points, some have shite points. So if SS removed two teams the number of games may change - is that the right thing to do? I have said...

    NRC onwards and upwards

100% agree. I also wish there is 2 weeks gap between the 2 comps. Unfortunately there isnt, and i cant do anything about it.

    NRC onwards and upwards

I don't know the vic comp well enough to comment. I didn't think the NRC comp was set up for Wallaby players who maybe on the spring tour. I thought it was set up to create another tier to help bring players up, to develop, to attract players to Soup rugby. As i have said - i don't know the...

    NRC onwards and upwards

True, but 5 clubs did. When the ARU is funding the State Unions, and the state unions only have one NRC team it is a different comparison.

    NRC onwards and upwards

Not saying it is or isnt - i think at present it is to early to tell.

    NRC onwards and upwards

I said above, that was sent off from my phone and it was poor form, hoping that poor form can be accepted and we can move on. I did it because rightly or wrongly it seemed there was so much negativity about what has happened, can't be changed, and i was hoping we could look forward. good...

No not my back stop position. I didnt say you were a key board warrior. The old saying play the cards you are dealt the best you can means focusing on what is in front of you and planning - as they (the draw) cant be changed; Back in the day Rod McQueen use to be in surf boats - he got dealt a...

Last season worked well. I like SS NRC SOUP TEST.
  19. Dave Beat

    NRC onwards and upwards

Hmmmm Okay wrong word. There are key board warriors on here that spend more time being critical and complaining than doing things. In an ideal world we wouldnt have this problem - we do because each comp is wanting to be as healthy and strong as they can.

    NRC onwards and upwards

Soon someone will start banging on because the SS is playing the same weekend of subbies. For one weekend you can be spoilt for choice you can watch NRC or SS - having a sook want change it.
